Getting Closer to Surgery

Hi Everyone, Well my husband and I went to Sedalia wednesday for my eval. from Dr. H. He said I qualified for surgery ! YEA!! He gave me a notebook full of information for before and after surgery, I'm sure he gives these out to everyone, pretty routine. I wasn't in his office but about an hour. Seems like so little considering we drove 6 hours to get there, had to spend the night and drive 6 hours home ! Well thats how it has to be, because my insurance will only pay to a COE. He said I had to come back about 2 weeks before surgery to do my evals. with dietary, PT, and do my pre-op tests. He told me I would probably get a surgery date around the last 2 weeks in June, pending insurance approval. I am so ready for this, We have been checking into this surgery for 2 years before I made my decision. My husband wants to have it done also, but right now his insurance will not pay for the surgery. He has United Healthcare does anyone out there have this insurance? Maybe you can tell us how to get it covered. Dr. H. said a lot of insurance companies are coming on board now because they have finally figured out in the long run its cheaper to pay for the surgery than to pay for all the medicine and medical care thats needed for diabetes, high blood pressure and other illness's caused from being overweight. Brenda, I met with Dr. Hornbostel May 3rd and I traveled down from North East Missouri. he told me it would be in June also.....The first visit was brief that was for him to accept you...The next visit preop will be the long one.....Its to meet with everyone at one time....2 weeks pior. Brenda I was there on Wednesday also. I looked for you but didnt see you. Of course they have it set up that you go out the back way instead of thru the waiting room when you get done so didnt see you then. Yeah I thought the meeting was a little brief too ,considering how far we drive to see him . You are about 2 times as far as we are. Anyway I am excited that we may be on our way to being thinner by the end of June. The only thing that would be better is if it was now , today, tomorrow. but I figure it like this , i have been fat a long time so what is a couple more months. lol Wish we could have met would have been neat.
