Topic: RE: Monday morning rolls around again!
Minus 2.2 this week after a salty 1 lb. gain last week. Slower lately, but that's ALL me. Today I ate some feelings and I'm not proud of it! At least it was protein bars and not a box of girl scout cookies! I don't feel totally out of control and am confident I'm not done yet and will leave that behavior behind again, but wow- it sure jumps right back out at you, doesn't it? I'll always be an addict, I guess...
Here's to a good week ahead, everyone!

Hang in there! I have to say I just got a terrible image of .5 lb mucus after reading this post!
You're doing all the right stuff it seems so keep it up. How much protein do you get in?

I had Dr Schwartz and it was a great experience with him and his clinic. I'm 13 months post op and have no issues so far. I have a friend who's part of the new program in Chaska and go to some meetings there too. They are a great group in Chaska also.

Okay, now I'm really getting frustrated. GRRR!
This week I worked hard to count every bite and be careful what I am eating. I probably had too many carbs, and need to incorporate more fruits and veggies back into my diet. Also probably went a bit high on the sodium. But I counted every calorie, to the extent possible.
I also exercised every single day except one planned rest day. I ran over 23 miles in one week, and that doesn't include the cross-training days. Sparkpeople often gives me the red message that I am not eating enough for the number of calories I am burning.
And yet, I continue to gain weight!
Starting weight: 298.4 lbs
Last week: 142.5 lbs
This week: 143.0
Gain of 0.5 lbs.
I have a terrible head cold today. Could it be I am retaining fluid? My head sure feels like it's filled with it!
Hope everyone else had a much more positive week!

They are all excellent. Dr Schwartz had the surgery so he totally understands what you are going through. Dr Drew was my surgeon. He is the one that did the operation on Dr Schwartz. Dr Drew spent 40 minutes with me explaining everything I needed to become successful. He is every bit a gentle and understanding soul. Their combined success rate is better than Ivory soap (99 44/100th pure.) Both of the nurses I visit with there have had the surgery. They have an excellent team.

Anyone have surgery with DR Kelly? What are you thoughts. He is doing my sleeve. I could have DR Rupp also but Kelly seemed like he knew what he was talking about.

I had Dr Schwartz and think very highly of him, he had the surgery himself. He is very personable and willing to answer ?'s and no rushing. I felt no pain after surgery, felt like no difficulty drinking or eating. I highly recommend Dr Schwartz

Actually the patch is the way the dr's recommend for WLS patients. I need to find another thing to do because I lost my health ins and can't afford the patches anymore...just didn't want to put that in the intial post .

I LOVED Dr. Chute! Don't cross him off your list. He is great!
He is conservative in his approach, and I probably flouted some of his rules, but I would much rather have a conservative surgeon than one who takes risks.
I spent one night in the hospital, and the day after I got home I felt good enough to go out and get a pedicure! I really felt like he cared about me, both at surgery time and in follow ups. He is a more reserved person, but he certainly answered any questions I asked him very thoroughly. I always get my questions answered by the NUT and others at the office, so that would apply to Dr. Drew as well.
I can't say that I was overwhelmingly thrilled with Abbott, but I was only there one night. It's the hospital--nobody is comfortable at a hospital, LOL. The care was good, I just hate hospitals in general.
Anyway, I healed up perfectly, and you almost can't see any of my incisions anymore. I had 8 incisions, because he took my gall bladder out, too, but I don't even remember where some of them were. And I've lost 160 lbs, which is the most important part!!
Good luck with your decision.

I totally agree that is why I am still going even though they were less than supportive.
