Being able to keep up with my dog during Agility classes! Lots of running around the course, and something I would never have been able to do pre-WLS.

What? Ten hours before the first reply? Well here is a post I did on Facebook.
I appreciate the upcoming 5K challenge. It is getting me out exercising when I would rather do something else. So I am riding my bike to Apple Valley to run an errand. I was crossing a busy intersection when my I pod came out with Go,Go; Go homey, get on the Trail.....Well, it WAS good advice, but who put Rap music on my I pod?

People sure don't have much to say here lately - so I challenge every one of you reading this to share a recent WOW moment you've had! Big or small, if it made you smile, it counts!
For me, I was pondering a new staff jacket. Don't need one desperately, but I get an allowance for staff clothing every year and thought I'd go for a bigger ticket item as I have enough shirts and such. So I found (online) the style I thought I'd like, and began to ponder...
The style is called "Nookta" (
), and it turns out one of my co-workers had his in his truck. He's not a big man by any means... probably 5'9", MAYBE 175... He's a firefighter for his hometown, quite athletic. He brought in HIS Nookta jacket for me to see hands-on, and then he told me to try it on. I hesitated, because I didn't think there was any way his would fit me. But he told me it would, and by cracker - IT DID! Roomy, even!
Why, at 5 years out, maintaining for the past 3, do I still see myself as huge??? I AM a big girl, but - Darren's jacket FIT!!!
Yup, that put a little hitch in my giddyup!
YOUR TURN!!!

Hi Julie: are you going to do the walk/run with us? Come on out and do that--a little 3 mile walk on a Saturday morning would help in the exercise department. I'd love to see you again!!
Sounds like you are maintaining, and I think that is harder in some ways than losing, so good for you!

Starting weight: 298.4 lbs
Last week: 141.6 lbs
This week: 138.4
Loss of 3.2 lbs.
Running for 10.2 miles on Saturday may have helped.
We did 7 miles in the cold rain until we got tired of being soaked to the skin and the rain blowing into our eyes. Then we waited out the weather and finished the remaining 3+ miles when the sun came out. Next time I'll wear my hat with the brim.
Paul: hope you had a nice Easter with the family. Best running mileage of any week yet--I did 31.4 miles running last week, with another 3.6 on the elliptical. Better get on that bike!!
Two weeks to our 5K walk or run--we have quite a good team, but more are welcome! We are doing the Challenge Obesity 5K Run or Walk at Como Lake on Saturday, April 21st. You can sign up as part of our "Formerly Fat Friends" team--use password "coffee." The link is below--it will be lots of fun!

Renae, its so good to see your new avatar. You look wonderful and doing exceptionally great. I am going between 160-163 constantly. I think I'm doing pretty good at it actually. Lol. Would rather get down to my goal weight (150) but I'm getting what I'm putting into it. Not exercising very much. Not eating enough protein and not drinking enough liquids. Gotta kick myself in the butt one of these days.
Pre- surgery 233 lbs
Current 160-163 lbs

Oh yes, the bunny was here and has left candy everywhere! The chocolate will have to be out of here today--- I can handle the other stuff, but chocolate in any form really does me in. :( It'll be NEXT week that we see the impact on the scale. For this week I was down 1.4 for the 3rd week in a row. Decent for me considering I've slowed waaaay down. Still haven't broken through the 185 obese/overweight mark. Grrrrr. :/
I'll be up north this Sat, so won't see you all until the walk. Looking forward to it! Renea, you've inspired me to trot along now and then during my walks. Just a little bit, but it's been probably 25 years since I jogged more than a few steps!! And, I'm koind of LIKING it!!

Woot, good for you Paul! You are on the right track! Should be nicer this week for getting out-- a little cool, but sunny.
Our 5K is gonna be a blast. We'll have to plan when and where to meet up--maybe coffee group should just meet at Como that week. Those not walking or running can be our cheerleaders! There's coffee at Black Bear Crossing

Yep, I am way behind on mileage. I got to quit working on projects and get outside. I was at my daughters and seenmed to spend all day on it. However, I probably walked almost two miles just at Menards......I did get 2 miles of waliking in every day ( I have upped my treadmill walk time up 50% from 30 minutes to 45 . I had a wonderful 8.5 mile bike ride on Sunday which was very windy. With the warmer weather I am sure I will be able to up my game.
On the plus side, I really pushed the liquids this week. I found a way to make "sun tea" in the micowave. however I paid the price when I downed a full liter after midnight. The liquids made me get up every two hours and the caffine kept me from falling back asleep.....
On the way home I listened to four podcast episodes of "Cutting the Fat." Excellent information
Last month I was able to stop the regain. This month i am much more on track and plan to be mindful. Still a challenge, but worth it.
Easter Sunday, they served lasagna. I ate a chicken breast stuffed with cheeze and asparagus.
Thank you for setting goals for me It is helping me get out everyday. I will be working my treadmill time up more this week so I will be ready gor the 5k on the 21st!!
I am down 3 pounds this week!
High 375
