Topic: RE: 5 Day Pouch Test Book?? Anyone got it?

I am not going to kick you in the butt, it is very hard the farther we get out.  I started HCG drops that you take 3 times a day, my sister in law did it and lost 8 lbs in a week, but then got side tracked.  I cut down on my beer, and hope to just drink when we get together with friends, or go out maybe.

I joined the gym with a friend, and she keeps me going, so that's good. I wish I could be back to at least 170 **** girl..........I don't know about the book for the 5 day pouch test, I know I wasn't really good at that.  These drops like killed my appetite, and Thank God I quit eating.  I bought some good meat for me to start with beings for day 3-40 I can only eat meat, fruit, and veggies, which is what I should of  been doing from the start right?  You hang in there girlie I know you can do it.......We rocked it before and we can rock it again.........Be tough girl.........

Hugs,
Marsha

Topic: 5 Day Pouch Test Book?? Anyone got it?
For the third time, I've started the 5-day pouch test today. Just super pissed off and upset with MYSELF over my regain since my surgery 4-yrs. ago. I've regained 36#'s since my very lowest post-op. For the last year or so I've hovered around 160-165 and just felt like I needed to get some serious exercise time in, but now I weighed this a.m. and I'm at 170!!!!! WTH???? That is so not cool so I decided to kick myself in the butt and do what I KNOW I have to do.
My biggest problem thru my most recent regain I think is my wine consumption at night. Usually 2-3glasses in a couple hours is normal for me. It's just become such a huge part of my relaxing a night after kids go to bed. Ugh!

I've been to the 5DPT website and I get the jist of the plan...day 1/2 liquids etc. But I know the book offers more tips, recipes, faq's, etc.
So I'm wondering if anyone near Moorhead, MN has the book I could borrow?
Anyone whose done this have some tips to lose extra pounds in the process (I know not the goal - but please, we all want it!)?

Just really need some encouragement to do what I KNOW I have to do and a kick in the a@$ while you're at it.
Began my journey in 2008 at 246#....lost 111#...have regaind about 35#'s of which I am currently trying to rectify!

Topic: Monday Morning rolls around again--how are you doing?
Good morning, everyone!  It's another Monday, another week to evaluate where you are in your weight loss journey.  Hopefully it's a good check-in for everyone.

Mine is just okay--all things considered, I should be happy.  Seems like I've had about 6 weeks of "exceptions."  You know what I mean:  "I can eat fast food because I'm moving."  "I can eat cake because it's my birthday."  "I can eat out because my stuff is in boxes."  Etc, etc.  I am the Queen of excuses--I can always find a reason for an exception to the rules.      That's a habit I need to break out of!

Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 140.3
This week: 141.4
Gain of 1.1 lbs.

My weigh-in is better than I deserve, all things considered.  Still, I am way behind on my training for the half-marathon in November, and I want to turn in a decent performance.  I don't expect to be really fast--since it is at Disney I plan to stop and take pictures, etc.  But I don't want to be hobbling the rest of the week that I am there.  I'm getting very excited about the trip!

Have a great week, everyone!

Topic: Monday morning weigh in on Tuesday--better late than never!
Ooops!  Sorry I missed the weigh-in post yesterday.  Anybody can start the weekly post that would like to--doesn't have to be me.

Anyway, I have been in same-old, same-old mode, which is maybe a good thing.

Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 139.5
This week: 140.3
Gain of 0.8 lbs.

Nothing too bothersome.  I have been running again, but not as much as I should be, considering my next half-marathon is only 4 weeks away.  I ran 16.59 miles last week, plus I did a lot of cross -training.  Eagan Community Center had Open House last week, so all the classes were free.  I tried High Intensity Intervals, which kicked my butt, Yoga and Zumba.  The Zumba was pathetic on my part, but it was worth a try.  I did run on all those days, just to class and back, as well as some on the track after Zumba--those miles aren't counted in the 16 miles above.  So I maybe got over 20 miles total for the week.  But I'm SUPPOSED to be over 25 for the week.  Ooops.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good week, eating well and getting their exercise in.  Enjoy the fall weather!

OK - I will post my stuff too :-)  I am only 5 1/2 weeks out so the numbers are not super impressive......here goes :-)

Starting Weight March -  2012 288.9
Weight at Surgery -  8/22/12 - 281.8
Last Week - 256.8
This Week - 254.4

That's it - 2.4 in a week - kinda lame but I will take it!

I am at the point where I need to get off my can and do some exercise.....I am thinking of either getting an elliptical machine at home - my hubby has weights OR joining Snap Fitness or Fitness 19 so I am in the same boat :-)

Hi All:

Shall I keep posting this Monday weigh-in post?  I don't mind it, but It seems to be doing only me any good,   You guys are stuck listening to my wins and woes.

The idea of this is just to have a day of accountability, to review the past week and make plans for the week ahead.  You don't have to post your weight here, just make a record of where you are at, what your struggles are, etc.  It has helped me to make a habit of this, but if I'm the only one, I don't have to bore everyone else, LOL.

Starting weight:  298.4
Last week: 141.0
This week: 139.5
Loss of 1.5 lbs this week

I feel better that the scale is going in the right direction again, and so am I.  It has helped to get back into a routine and not be eating out so much.  I ran a bit more this week, too ,so that helps.  I did about 20 miles last week, then a lovely 7 mile run yesterday (I record mileage Sun-Sat).  Bu that is all the workout I did--no other cross-training.  I need to do more of that.  Those of you who do strength work, do you all belong to a club?  They are having an open house at the Eagan Community Center this week, and I am considering joining.  Worth it?

Of course you are welcome!  Please come to Caribou at the Eagan Byerlys tomorrow morning at 8:30am.  We will be the ones with water cups at a table in the middle.  Some of us will be sweaty!  We'll be very glad to meet you!

Renee it was great running with you as well. Deb and I are heading up north on Friday to close up our camper. We plan on being at the meeting the following week so if you are up for it and weather is not to cold, maybe we could do  another run.

Topic: RE: Sent in my forms to Park Nicollet
Hi, I went through this process there and was completely disatisfied with the customer service and lack there of.   I don't want to get in to too many details but just want to make sure that you research the program well before going forward.  There are other wonderful programs out there and i am going forward with surgery at another local program here in the Twin Cities.   Best of luck to you and i would also be willing to speak with you off-line too about my experience.    Truly it is what you make of it.  Good Luck!   Susie
