Welcome! Good luck with your surgery. The pre-surgery diet is the hardest part, no doubt about it. Hang in there, and it will get better!!
Please join us for coffee on Saturday mornings. We have a great informal support group that meets in Burnsville or Eagan every Saturday at 8:30am. Looks like you'll be having surgery this Saturday, but come see us any other Saturday and hang out with us. We have people with all different types of surgery and all different stages and we support each other thru thick and thin!
Saturday, 12/15 is in Burnsville at the Panera Bread in Burnsville Center. Saturday, 12/22 is at the Caribou in Byerly's at Eagan Town Center. We alternate locations.
New to the boards. I'm in the SW Metro area (near Shakopee) and am having a RNY with Dr Svendson on Dec 15th at Methodist Hospital. The high protein liquid diet is killing me and driving me to not want to do this any more, but I'm already down 10lbs and I know that it's just the hunger talking as it was cookie baking weekend at my mom's house this last weekend. Would love to chat at others who are here and can help me with the craziness that is my life!
Hello all: sorry I missed yesterday, if there's anyone out there paying attention.
I was actually at Dr. Chute's office for my two year follow up appointment, even tho it's been 2 1/2 years, LOL. At least I went. The good news is that I was almost exactly at the same weight as I was at my 18 month appointment, so that's a full year of maintenance at goal weight, WOOT! One year down, the rest of my life to go,
This week's stats:
Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 140.0
This week: 139.8
Loss of 0.2 lbs
Is it the darkness, or what? I don't know, but my motivation for running has been at low ebb. Maybe because I don't have a race on the calendar right now I am having a harder time maintaining my level of commitment to training. I have been going to the gym I joined, taking some classes and doing some strength training. Took a High Intensity Interval class last night that kicked my butt: shoulders, glutes and back are sore today, and I think the abs will be sore tomorrow--delayed reaction! It's a great class!
Have a great week, everyone, and keep your eyes on the prize. That cookie lasts a minute, but the size 10 jeans are for life!!
Seems like we have similar schedules my husband works late gets home earliest 8PM but later if working OT. I workout at Blast fitness in Sunray So I need to work out pretty late or really early(early rarely happens). Here is my email [email protected] shoot me e-mail I will send contact info. Im always willing to chat and it is hard to tal to people who have not had surgery. I haven't had any ulcers or any complications yet thank goodness.
Hi fellow Minnesotans! I am having my RNY on December 20th. I would love to meet for a coffee before then, if there is one scheduled? I like in the Elk River area. I am totally willing to drive to the coffee date though=)
I'm in Saint Paul also, close to down town, I know United has support groups once a month also. I would jus like to have some one to talk to when the meetings are so far away. The work routine you are right much easier said then done. I go to LA Fitness here about 3 times a week I still have issues with stomach ulcers so till the dr. gives me the all clear I want to try to get in there for some classes on the weekend. Right now I only go after my hubby gets home from work which is about 930pm stay till 12. kind of crapy times but I try to get in there.
