Hi Kelly:
Sorry I misinterpreted your original post. I would love to meet you.
I am coming to Fargo in May to run in the Fargo Half-Marathon. It is May 19th. Are you going to be around that weekend? Maybe coffee afterward or something?
Good for you for setting some consistent goals. I think maybe 1000 calories a day is low if you are doing a lot of working out, but you know what is best for your body.
We will be doing the Challenge Obesity 5K as a group together in early April. You should plan to join us, as should anyone else who wants to. We will have runners, walkers and everything in between, so nobody need feel that they are "too slow." If you are putting one foot in front of the other, you are doing great!
The website for the race is http://charities,challenge.org/html/challenge_obesity_5k.html
The date is Saturday, April 20th. Plan on it!!
My weight crept up over the summer (I had a lot of bad things going on that I allowed to mess with my eating/working out). However, I have gotten back on track with tracking my food, eating right, and working out.
I want to work out at least 5 days a week, and stick to 1000 or so calories a day, until I get back down to 135. I am trying to run every-other-day so that I can do some 5Ks this year.

I will really try to make it. I can always go home and take a nap. Eagan Byerlys...I will reread other post about where it is. If I need more help to find it I will write again. I bet it will be a good meeting with being the first of the year. Tracy
I'm not sure about the two trackers, that's too much tech for me. :-)
You should definitely come--we're in the Caribou coffee, so at least you can get caffeine to wake up. Our support group includes people with all different WLS procedures: lap-band, DS, sleeve, RnY. I personally have had RnY, but there's definitely all types represented. We also have people anywhere from before surgery to years out--it is helpful to learn from everyone at every stage.
Update: i couldnt get the time off work!! Now i have to wait until the end of Feb, because we are going to Disney world in Feb and i dont want to slow my family down.
I know this is an old post and you must have found the answer by now. I have both the same insurances as you. It covered my lapband surgery. But I had to do 6 months of "dieting" with my doc overseeing. It seemed like the longest 6 mo's. That was 3 1/2 years ago now. I am hoping to have revision to RNY. Hoping my doc will know what to say to make it go thru. I have no idea if they cover revision or if they will just say to take out the lapband, then make me gain my weight back to get the RNY. Tracy
I just got back on this board after a few years away. I live in Lakeville. I have a lapband now but will hopefully be revised to RNY soon. I bet you are past surgery now. I would love to talk about it. Tracy
I am wondering why I have 2 of those weight trackers on my replies?
