Thanks for the well-wishes, I did great.  I ran in the Cottage Grove -StrawberryFest, 5K.  I am not aware of what runner I came in at, but I did it in 36 minutes.  I did a couple practice runs the week before, and would do about 40-45 minutes to make the run, so I did good.  It felt so great!!!!  I think  I kept smiling all day.  I am really proud of myself as well.  Thanks again everyone!!!!

Sounds like you're doing great.  We know we can't be in "Diet mode" the rest of our lives.  You have to live sometimes.  Sounds like you did great considering how you ate.  Learning how to maintain is a learning experience in itself.
Good job on all those steps.  I did that in Stillwater in April and did my shins hurt the next day.  Ouch!

Topic: Monday Morning Weigh-in time!!
Boy was I bad this weekend!  I planned for Saturday to be a rest day from exercise, so that was okay, but I went camping with my sister and her family and she did most of the cooking.  She is an awesome cook, and I ate like a pig.  Fortunately, it isn't showing too badly on the scale, but I was a lot lower earlier in the week.  :-)

We did climb the observation tower twice--149 steps each time--and go for a brisk walk on Sunday morning around the campground.  My sister commented on the fact that, one year ago, I would never even have attempted the observation tower, and she's right.   This time I didn't even hesitate, and wasn't winded when I got to the top, either.  What a miraculous change!!

Starting weight:  298.4
Last week:  147.0
This week: 146.9
This week:  Lost 0.1 lbs.  Well, at least it's not up!

Topic: RE: Mn government shutdown, what about medicaid?
Any government shutdown will be temporary. I do not speak for the government, but historically.......You nay be inconvenienced because they will get behind, but you will eventually get what you have been previously scheduled. So your halt may have to be  resheduled, but it won;t have ramifications on you merits.

I'm soooo nervous about this government shutdown. I'm currently in a position where I cannot afford private health insurance so I'm on medicaid. I'm so scared come july 1st I will have no medical! That would put a halt to my journey to surgery. I'm interested to hear what others takes are on this government shutdown, are you concerned? Do you think it will happen?
