Topic: It's Monday again--time to weigh in!
Well, I'm actually not trying to do this, but I am still losing. If you saw how much I eat, you'd be wondering how that is happening. I keep worrying that I'm eating too much and going to go the other way, but it isn't working like that. Will I ever NOT feel guilty about what I am eating?

I feel bad that I haven't been on OH hardly at all in the past month. My excuse is that I have my new job that requires me to get up at 3:30am and then I don't get home until 2:30pm. It doesn't leave me much time in the late afternoon and evenings to get all the things I want accomplished let alone get online. Then during the weekend I want to spend time with my boys and also have more plans now that i'm not embarrassed to go out. I have been enjoying my new self and am apt to say yes more often when people invite me to things. It has been a positive experience all around since my surgery. I went to Minneapolis with a guy friend last weekend and we walked around and looked at art and went to a show at the Ordway. I got all gussied up and walked with my head held high and didn't have one thought in my head about how I looked. Instead for once I knew that I looked fine and my mind wasn't consumed the whole time by thoughts of pulling my shirt down to cover my hips or my lack of any self-confidence which in turn allowed me to truly have a good time. This weekend I had a wedding to go to and went shopping for a cute summery dress to wear. I almost hit the floor when I tried on a medium and it fit perfectly! I admit my social life is ever increasing and I don't use the internet to fill that social void from my shyness and wanting to hide anymore. Here's a pic of a friend of mine and me at the wedding. I am in a lot of pictures these days. No more hiding. :)
Topic: RE: Mn government shutdown, what about medicaid?
Wow-I had this same question a few days ago. My 5 kids and I are on Medicaid. I have an appeal going on right now and if they shut down, my surgery date is VOID!
I HOPE & PRAY they don't shut down for everyone's urgent medical needs and also people who depend 100% on the government!
My surgery date is not a necessity, just would be a pain in the rear.
5 more days and we will know for sure. Sounds like they made some good progress yesterday

For the sore throat virus.
I got it last wednesday, Thursday I ran a fever of 101 and it was difficult to swallow. Since we can't take advil for inflamation there wasn't much to do. Friday it was so bad I couldn't even swallow my own spit. Ended up in urgent care geting a shot of Toradol to ease the pain and then put in steroids for the inflammation, once the toradol kicked in and I could swallow again. Feeling a bit better today, it's the first time since Thursday that I've been able to eat. That said I've lost enought weight now to make it to GOAL!!
I guess something good came out of the bad.
