Too bad OH doesn't have a "LIKE" button! Thanks for sharing, great piece of advice!
LC! I remember your avatar more than anything, so glad you popped in and came out of lurk mode!
The difference one day can make - just remember to continue taking your stairs as a positive sign that you are changing your habits for a healthier new you. Even if it was done before, it can be done again. Who said it can't, right?
The best fight and most rewarding is the one for your healthier life! And if anyone or anything get in the way of that, including perhaps yourself (I know I'm my own worst enemy most days), then just take a quiet moment to reflect on that and figure a way through it. And when it seems a tad too tough, come here, bring it to the board. That's what this board was about. Let's restore it to that level! You're one of the champions and your pouch still works. Now make it work for you again.
Stay in touch & continued progress be yours!
I had a SAGB band placed in October of 2005 during the clinical trial for the device. It has stopped and I get GERD anytime the band is filled. I received a denial from Medica- I was denied because I didn't have a more major complication. Has anyone here appealed to Medica and won? Would you share your experience?
Thanks much!
Megan
Hello,
It's been quite a few years since I've even been to this site. I am going to be having a scope tomorrow to check for stomach ulcers. My regular hospital is doing it. I told them that I would prefer a my surgeon to do it, but he is no longer in the state. Should I be worried that a general surgeon is doing this scope? I know that they are educated, but I am still worried. Also, what have you had for treatment for ulcers?

Good Monday morning, everyone!
Posting my weigh-in here, as usual. Feel free to chime in--no need to post weight, but I find it to be a good reminder of where I am and where I should be in my journey.
Last week I was 140.something. This week 139.6, so that's good.
It is really nice to be able to get outside and be active, now that the weather is warming up. Went for a long run yesterday and actually ran 10 miles!! I feel really good today, and have a bit more confidence getting ready for my half-marathon. I have 6 weeks before the half, so I feel like I am in a good position.
I am having some significant GI problems while doing long runs, tho, so I feel like I have to do more of them for my body to get accustomed to that level of effort. Has anybody had any experience with taking probiotics? I also think that might help.
Have a great week, everyone!
Had my 3 yr post op appt on Mar 27, and I am doing well. Weight is stable, in spite of the major stressors going on in my life right now. God is good and guiding me through the muck.
Happy Spring to all.
Carol
Looking forward to meeting you. We also have an active Facebook group if you are a Facebooker. YOu can send me your info by private message if you would like me to add you to the group. It is a "secret" FB group, so it's only us. :-)
Me Too, I thought I was strong enough to just be an overcomer. I was already out of much of my stressed lifestyle, what could go wrong.?
Well it doesn't matter what did. What matters is the direction we take today.
I am thankful for this forum, and even more for the coffee group that does challenge me to positivity.
Thanks for the info. I will to attend n Saturday. Thanks for the info about the meeting.
Good Morning Everyone. I hope I'm posting this in the right area. I'm new to the website, but have been doing a lot of reading. I was looking to get others opinion on where they had surgery, the process, how long it took (I know it depends on insurance), the surgeon and the nurses following surgery. I've read lots of reviews on great surgeons in the area, but then I've read about not so great care by the hospital staff following surgery. The two main places I'm looking at right now are Unity and Methodist Hospital. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm just starting my journey... Thanks so much!
