Sore couldn't make it, daughter from Delaware here and trying to figure out returning as her house at the Air Force Base has been told to evacuate. Plus we promised to have her and our grandson at the fair for breakfast at 8am. Didn't do too bad there today, surprised myself. Won't see you all til the 17th when we're back from out trip.

From my visit to the fair last year -
As for the State Fair? I did well - tried gator, but never found the camel. Had 1/3 of an order of cheese curds, tried fried pickles, 1/2 a cheddar beef stick, had a taste of 2 different "fudge puppies". Honestly? I didn't eat very much at all! Never even had my beloved pork chop! Nor did I do the giant slide - but I DID go on both sky rides with no fear or embarassement, and we DID cruise through many campers! Yes, I fit through the doors better and don't rock them like I used to, but DAMN! Being tall is still an issue when it comes to passing through the doors of some of the smaller ones... YOWCH! I actually have a small scab on my noggin!
It's best if you're with people you can share with - especially being as freshly post-op as you are! I can eat a whole pork chop if I haven't had much else, but it'san awful lot for one of us!
There are plenty of proteins available, plenty of fresh options. And I know some people who have bought snowcones MINUS the syrup, then added their own Crystal Light 'sauce' (personally, I think mixing up a 'stick' of Crystal Light with just enough water to fill one of those Mio bottles would be DA BOMB!)
Have Fun - and enjoy the fair without all those pounds you've already shed!!!

Annie, my sweet, I'm afraid I'm going to pass myself. Had a lovely mother/daughter evening, but I haven't even gotten ready for bed yet and it's 1am... I'm so sorry, I hope you know I DO want to see you! I'm just not much of an early bird, especially after a late night.
I have to work my 'hobby job' on the 10th, but maybe we can get something going for the 3rd??

I'm headed to the Great MN Get-Together tomorrow afternoon. It's been a few years since I've been there. I'm looking forward to going and not being as food-obsessed as I was in years past. I will also have the energy I need to wander around all day with the kiddos seeing the sights, then maybe embarrass my daughter by dancing as I escort her to a boy band concert at the GrandStand that night. :)
I plan on staying hydrated, sampling other people's yummies, and scouting out WLS-friendly options for food. Oh- and I also plan on wearing a hat because my scalp will fry with all this hair I've been losing the last few weeks (boo!)
Any tips for me or all the others headed there the next week? If I come across any good finds I'll post them here.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier to text I have been really busy. I won't be able to make it heading to the state fair. I am happy to say that I have lost three pounds since last MG. Finally going in the right direction.
