A good week here.  Though the scale was kind, I have learned that I cannot have nutella in the house...

SO close to minus 80.  :)

Finally home after what seems like 5 weeks of running.   I had my first big stall (almost 4 weeks)and 5 pound regain end a week and a half ago.  I continued to follow my diet and exercise even though my weight wasn't changing.  When I jumped on the scale today i was down 14 pounds from 2 Sundays ago to 334.  Yes I think it's easy to doubt your tool, but it's pretty damn AWESOME to have this life changing event.  Sure is nice to get "noticed" when your out and about instead of the constant scrutiny of others.

Have a great week everyone!

OK people, I do like my motorcycle more because I can see more-faster. but I do have to remind myself it is the journey, not the speed that brings us to our destination.

Yep it is wonderful, isn't it? I am down two pounds from August 23, maybe not a record, but it is in the correct direction. I have stopped the weight regain of the past 6 months and feel that I have learned about choices, and that I like that I can make them positively.
I do have a treadmill for winter, but i think a exercise routine should be fun so it entices you to do it on a real regular basis. let us know what you find

Hi All:

It's weigh-in day again.  I find this routine very comforting.  It is important to me, even at goal, to be accountable somewhere for staying on track.  I'm somewhat nervous about winter, when it will be harder to get outside and exercise.  I think I need to adopt a winter sport.

Starting weight:  298.4

This week: 137.5
This week:  Loss of 0.2 lbs

I ran 5 miles yesterday morning with my daughter and a friend.  It was a wonderful morning, and I really enjoy running with my DD.  Our friend was behind us at one point, laughing because we have the same butt and the same running stride and we were running in complete tandem.  I'm glad I wasn'****ching, LOL.

But I love sharing times like that with my DD, and I'm grateful to have them.  Two years ago, if you had said I could run with her and keep up, (even beat her powering up hills), I would have laughed (along with being silently embarrassed and ashamed).  No need for any of that anymore!!

I'm sorry I missed you, too, Julie and everyone!  I got a chance to get paid to take photos at my nephew's hockey game, so I jumped at the chance.  It was great fun to see them play, especially since their team won, 16-2.  :-)  But I missed you all.

I will probably miss this Saturday, too, since I will be *gasp* running in my 10K race.  It will take me longer, so I doubt I will be able to come and drip sweat on you, LOL.  But I will wish sweat in your direction.

Good for you, Paul, that is fantastic.  Did you like that St. Paul Classic?  I looked at doing it, it sounded like fun.  Ended up running instead, but I liked the fact that you had support the whole way, and the roads were blocked for traffic.

Maybe our journey IS like riding a bicycle.Once you do it, you remember the  "how to" the next time so reach your destination you just keep peddling.

I rode my bike to coffee on Saturday and at 6 miles each way, it was a good ride to start the day. I had arranged to ride with my brother around his lake which is 12.2 miles long and mostly flat. I figured I could do that.....Instead he called on Saturday afternoon and offered an alternative: the St Paul Classic bike ride. There were several options starting at 7.6 miles. I agreed to go. When I got there he said we should do the full 30 mile course. I went along figuring my sister lived very close to the half way point and I "had options."
I ended up making the FULL 30 miles by just having kept peddling. I am going to try and apply that to my last (or next) 30 pound weight loss goal.  I really struggled on the hills and figure less weight to carry up the hill just makes it that more do-able.....

Two side notes. My brother says it is easier to lose two-five pounds on my body than doing it by buying a lighter bike.

I was at the bike store in anticipation of this trip. When I was making my purchase a person asked "are you Paul?" He recognized my voice, had not recognized me as me standing next to him. Woohoo!!
