I think you are waisting more time trying to educate an MD who has not bothered to keep op on gastric bypass surgery. If I was in your position I would postpone the checkup ontil I had time to see some one who specialize in this area and can provide me with the best service possible, not just rubber stamp some check lists.

If I remember right, it was around $15k.
I had the surgery on December 15th and went back to work on January 2nd. The only bad thing was I still had my drains in, but I was able to "hide" them. One drain came out on the 3rd, and the second one was about 3 days later. So, I would allow 3 weeks minimum. I heal quickly and have a high pain tolerance. A lot of people just say 6 weeks for recovery because it really is that long before you can resume a lot of activities.

I have currently moved to paynesville with my new job and I need to get in for my 3 year check-up... I am seeing a family practicioner that is not up on gastric bypass so I am wondering if anyone has a list of the vitamin levels that we should be watching that I could take with? I know I saw it on here a long time ago .... I just want to make sure I am covered on what we are suppose to be watching- I know last time I was high in Iron and everything else was good - but I can't drive 2 hours to go to Park Nic. so the local clinic will have to do this time.

Thanks Darla for your kind words!! Yes its me...I had to sign up for OH again couldn't remember any of my old user name and stuff ....too impatient to try to figure it all out again.
We are continuting to see improvements she will have another round of dialysis today. I haven't been able to see her a lot because I have a bad cold and they understandably don't want me in ICU but my husband said she starting to act like her old self again. I guess she has no memory of the last 4 days.
