Slowing down here. Yes, it's totally me- sampling more little bites of this and that and haven't been able to get really regular about exercise. Still in a downward trend so I'm happy, but still wanting to be as close to 100% as I can during this stage and maximize my loss. This is a 2 week change- didn't get weighed in last week.

Thanks for the welcome! I will see what I can do about coffee sometime. I live in Como Park, so I am kinda on the other side of town.
As I near my surgery date, I am thinking about getting a few basic food needs in the house. Are there any local stores that you have found to be worth a visit? I am thinking some unflavored protein powder and some protein shakes would be good to have.

Topic: Need opinions on surgeons
Hey all, I am very new to this and am seriously considering WLS. I'm leaning towards the VSG, but have yet to talk to a surgeon. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with any of the physicians at United, Unity, or Abbott Northwestern hospitals? If so, who would you recommend? What was your experience? Thanks a ton!! :)

Happy Leif Erikson Day! (I prefer to celebrate Leif seeing as he really came here first :)
I had a pretty big loss of 5 pounds last week so the scale wasn't so generous this morning.
Starting weight: 303
Last week: 256
This week: 254.5
Loss: 1.5 pounds
BMI: FINALLY UNDER 40!!! I'm no longer morbidly obese!

Hi, and welcome......Hope all goes well with your surgery....
You should come to one of the coffee get togethers, we meet @ Panera bread in Burnsville and Caribou coffee in Eagan on Saturday mornings @ 8:30am. Watch the board for a posting for coffee, I believe this Saturday is Eagan....

Yep we are now in the "learning" phase of our journey. We need to find how to live "with" food and balance how our increased and varied intake can be checked and balanced out with increased activity. We live in a "range" of weight, not a single number, however be ever vigilant that the "range" isn't increasing.
I am struggleing big time with this issue, but I am not going to roll over and ignore my responsibilities to myself.

I'm not gonna be mad at myself or suffer recriminations or regrets. I had a great time camping with friends this weekend, drank way too much wine, ate bread and pastries, and consequently gained weight (again.) I also ate birthday cake and ice cream last night. Funny how these things go together with gaining weight, isn't it?
But I also rode my bike on Saturday from the campground, and then got up and ran 6.5 miles on Sunday morning. So I didn't give up all my good habits.
Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 138.8
This week: 140.8
This week: gain of 2 lbs
