Thanks for the respones!! I truly appreciate it! I am almost done with my 6 months, and hope to have surgery in March. I feel good about my choice in doctor and practice. I just wanted some feedback from someone who actually used the practice. So far so good. I love the people at the clinic and I am amazed by Dr. Schwartz. I hope to someday be as sucessful as you guys!!

I'm with you, Darla--I'm droopy too, but I match. Anyway, I am also approaching 50, and I'll spend my money on good bras that support the girls, what's left of them anyway. ;-) I went from a 44DD to a 36B and underwire is not an option, it's a structural necessity!
I'll never have the cash for surgery, but Amy if you will feel better about yourself doing it, I say Go For It! Spend your money on yourself--good for you!

I didn't have Dr. Schwartz either, I had his partner Dr. Chute. They do a great job at Abbott, and I highly recommend that practice. I reached goal--loss of 160 lbs--in 9 months with no complications.
Keep in mind, as someone else said, it's a tool for you. They provide lots of support, but you have to embrace it and work the tool. No matter where you go, your result is mostly up to you!

Are you going to be at United? My surgery is Wednesday with Dr. Kelly from St. Paul Surgeons but I am getting the VSG. Good luck to you!!!
Topic: RE: Monday morning weigh-in--Stay on track this holiday!
After Thanksgiving I was about the same ( up .2) but then down 3 this week, so I am OK with that. Water weight from the extra saltiness I think.
I'm torn about this holiday season. On the one hand, at 6 months out or so things are slowing down for me and I want to maximize my loss in this first year. That means sticking to it over the holidays. I was hoping for onederland by the new year, but we'll see- that's about 7 pounds or so away at this point. Doable...
BUT I kind of want to lay off a bit and relax and have a bit here and there... so we'll see... I'm at a point where I can find something to eat pretty much anywhere, and still focus on protein first, and my restiction is still great. It's more the snacking and treats I struggle with. Going to make sure I have water mixins in my purse as well as protein bars when I'm out.
Good luck to us all finding just the right balance!

I go for nuts, shrimp and veggies at a buffet. I can't resist a little dessert, but only after I'm sated with the good stuff, so there isn't much room for an over abundance of sugar!

I went to Dr Schwartz after a friend had rny with him 18 months earlier. My friend is down 330+ and I am down 240 after 11 months after lap rny. I have had a great experience and have had no side effects. The entire staff at abbot was GREAT! If you have any other questions shoot me a messege. No matter who you choose it's just a tool and only you can make it work.

Lost my weight within a year. Maintained for almost two.
Surgery was an Open DS with Dr. Buchwald on 12/23/08.
Fought BCBS-MN for insurance coverage including two appeals, and won. Best.Decision.Ever.

You are too sweet ... and still my go-to girl for a good laugh!
40 LONGS? haha!!
Trust me, I have thought about the fact that right now everything matches. I agree with you on that statement. Round stripper knockers with a sag full 'o belly and batwings and melted wax like thighs...um, yeah, I'm not sure that's a real pleasant view either. But eventually I will have my LBL, so like I said this is a start to the re-building phase. Being in construction, I guess I can relate to tearing down an existing building to it's foundation or core, and improving on the structure that was there because that was solid. And in the end, the result is this amazing new building. I guess only time will tell if that's an accurate analogy or not.
Love you to pieces, Darla!
