I'm not from Minnesota but I'm only 35 minutes from your border and have close family friends in minny... Hope this counts. Minnesota has always been a second home for me, it's a great state with some nice people

I too would love to see more Minnesota posts, hope your kick in the butt helps :) .. I am not too worried about Christmas, which surprises me that I am saying that but since surgery food is soooo not important to me, I am hardly ever hungry and seems like I most of the time eat just because I have to... wow thats the first time in my entire life that I have ever said that or felt that way,.. it feels great !!

Plans for Christmas?  Trying to keep our Christmas Light display up and running despite all the rain, wet weather and tripped GFI outlets in our yard.

The best thing I can do to stay on track during the holidays?  Drink more water! I'm still a little lacking in that department.

The coffee is at Burnsville Mall Panera Bread. Hope to see you there!

What has happened to our boards?  We used to have alot of posts, and now we are lucky if it is every 2 days...... lets get it shakin in here.

So what are your plans for Christmas?

What are you going to do to make sure you stay on track?

Myself, we are having the inlaws here and my mom from Fargo.  I am going to quit feeling sorry for myself and kick it in the toosh.  If I feel the need to eat more than what is needed I will head to the gym or pop on in here and see what you all are doing and get some ideas from you all.....

Thank you all for the support, now I need to help give the support back....well try to anyway......

Now let it roll......................

Where is coffee this weekend?

So sorry about your kidney stone, Tess!  That sounds like no fun.

I had the headache/head cold sort of thing--sadly the sort of thing that makes you stay home in bed and eat.  (Unlike stomach flu, which is awful but at least has some salutory effect--you don't feel like eating anything!)  So no exercise and much food was a bad combination.

I think taking my B12 shot early really made a difference in my energy level, tho.  It's been hard, but I've gotten out of bed and exercised for the last 4 days in a row, and it is showing on the scale, so that's good.  Plus I just feel better.  I've come to really like the feeling of tired muscles all day--is that weird?  If so, at least it's a good weird.

Marsha:

I'm so proud of you for posting your worries and concerns here!!    You kno w that this group understands and supports--we've all been there, and continue to fight the battle.  The fact that you posted here shows that you are still fighting!!

It's hard to turn away from the things that have been our comfort in the past--alcohol and food.  If it wasn't hard, we wouldn't be here.  But there's no doubt in my mind that you can take charge and DO IT!  They gym membership is a great start--START NOW!  Don't wait!  Try to substitute exercise for the alcohol--you'll definitely feel better in the morning.   Want a beer?--go walk a mile instead.

We're here for you--you can do it.  If you can get to a Sat support group in the Cities, we'd love to see you and give you a hug in person!

Topic: Greek Yogurt idea
I've posted a few ideas I've had over the years - well, I just kinda stumbled across another a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd share it with you!

I love Greek yogurt - and I LOVE how it's becoming so much easier to find! Used to have to go to Byerly's or Trader Joes to find it, but now you can get it pretty much anywhere! I love Chobani, but I hate the price. Plus, in case you hadn't noticed, the PLAIN greek yogurts typically have a higher protein content than the flavored ones - so I usually stick with the 0 fat varieties.

Of course, you can't really EAT plain greek yogurt unless you're using it as a sour cream substitute, so I usually stir in some fruit and Splenda, or in a pinch, some sugar-free fruit spread.

Well, I got to work one day with my plain yogurt, but NO FRUIT or SPLENDA! Crap... how to eat it? I ALWAYS have SF raspberry lemonade drink mixes handy - Crystal Light, or a store brand, they're all good. So just for ****s & giggles, I mixed one of those into a cup of plain Greek yogurt....

Can I just say, YUM-DIDDY!!!! It was fantastic!!! Raspberry Lemonade Greek Yogurt! Really tart and flavorful!

Give your favorite flavor a try!
