New to the boards.  I'm in the SW Metro area (near Shakopee) and am having a RNY with Dr Svendson on Dec 15th at Methodist Hospital.  The high protein liquid diet is killing me and driving me to not want to do this any more, but I'm already down 10lbs and I know that it's just the hunger talking as it was cookie baking weekend at my mom's house this last weekend.  Would love to chat at others who are here and can help me with the craziness that is my life!

Welcome!  Good luck with your surgery.  The pre-surgery diet is the hardest part, no doubt about it.  Hang in there, and it will get better!!

Please join us for coffee on Saturday mornings.  We have a great informal support group that meets in Burnsville or Eagan every Saturday at 8:30am.  Looks like you'll be having surgery this Saturday, but come see us any other Saturday and hang out with us.  We have people with all different types of surgery and all different stages and we support each other thru thick and thin!

Saturday, 12/15 is in Burnsville at the Panera Bread in Burnsville Center.  Saturday, 12/22 is at the Caribou in Byerly's at Eagan Town Center.  We alternate locations.

RNY on 01/18/13
Hi!!!! I am a little over 30 minutes south of shakopee. I will be having RNY with Dr. Jones through Park Nicollet on the 21st! 6 days apart - we should be surgery buddies!

I started my pre op yesterday...aaahh!! I am SO hungry all the time. I am peeing constantly from all the fluids and I am super cranky. But I know this too shall pass...I have lost 4 pounds already though!

Revision on 04/19/13

I just got back on this board after a few years away. I live in Lakeville. I have a lapband now but will hopefully be revised to RNY soon. I bet you are past surgery now. I would love to talk about it. Tracy

I had a VSG with Dr Jones, and he did a great job!  I only saw him twice (once at the consult, once the day of surgery), but I guess that's ok- the end results were good, and I guess that is the important thing :)
