Monday Weigh-in thread--can you believe this weather?

Good Monday morning!  Hope you all had a great weekend, it sure was beautiful!

Julie, we need a race report--how did it go?

I had a pretty good week--a few bad foods creeping in that I need to nip in the bud.  My bad head cold at the beginning of the week caused me to turn to comfort foods; that and not exercising were a bad combination.  But I finished out the week stronger with an 8 mile run yesterday--my longest run yet!

Starting weight: 298.4 lbs
Last week: 140.1 lbs
This week: 138.8
Loss of 1.3 lbs.

Hope everybody is able to get outside and get some exercise while this warm weather holds.  It's funny--I didn't even know quite what to wear for my run yesterday I'm so used to bundling up.  I was overdressed, of course, but not too bad.  Have a great week!

Well, my dh and I went to Florida for a week for our 25th anniversery.  I ate everything I wanted including these fantstic caramel candies covered in chocolate. (My mouth is watering as I write this.)  I had pizza, a couple of hamburgers, fries, yummy sweet potatoes, apple pie.  You get the idea.   I ate way too much and many bad things.  I managed to lose 1 pound.  I was shocked.  I'm still in my "Safe zone."  I think not weighing myself had something to do with it.  Duh me. You would think I would learn not to weigh myself every day.
Back to eating mostly protein.  Boring.

Sounds like a fabulous trip!  You must have walked a lot, too or something.  Whereabouts in Florida did you go?

Yes, the protein without more is pretty boring.  But I'm eating too many simple carbs lately, so I have to get back to the protein first, too!

We went to Orlando.  We are typical tourists that like alot of stuff to do.  We also went to Cocoa beach on a very windy day.  Only went in the ocean up to our ankles.  Yes, we did do a lot of wallking.  Maybe thats why I didn't gain.  Ate like a pig but played hard too.
I need to change around my proteins.  I tend to eat the same things every day.  Any suggestions?

I'm a big salmon and tuna eater--do you like fish?  It goes down better for me than chicken.  If I do chicken it has to be in a soup or hot dish or something, with broth or gravy.  Otherwise it is too dry for me.

Salmon baked with a bit of olive oil and lemon pepper--yum!  Or jimmy John's tuna salad in a lettuce wrap--also yum!

I also like chili--it's great with ground turkey and lots of beans.  Of course, I better eat it by myself, LOL.

What's your go-to protein meal?

I typically start my day with some tuna salad, a cheddar wurst, or a couple of eggs.  I will sometimes have half a banana wth peanut butter.  I also have chicken breast, salami, or turkey ham.  My favorite meat  is a nice burger.  No bun of course.  Thats about it other than almonds, pistachios, and an occassional protein bar.

 Renee,,

I would like it if you would post your miles run over a week. You know I am too old to keep up with your pace, but I might try to equal the miles with bike riding. I am so thankful for the nice weather and have had two 12 mile rides this week and am planning on riding to coffee for 15 more.
