Hi all:

Hope you all had a good week in the weight-loss (or maintenance) department.  I'm up a bit again, but I didn't run as much last week as I have been.  I also managed to get a head cold (again!), which is sapping my energy.  Oh well, this too shall pass.

Starting weight: 298.4 lbs
Last week: 138.6 lbs
This week: 140.1
Gain of 1.5 lbs.

I also ate out twice over the weekend--nothing too bad, but I munched on salty tortilla chips last night, I'm sure that didn't help.

Is spring coming??  I sure hope so.

I'm down a bit.  I'm not quite maintaining, but it's kind of been two steps forward, one step back lately.  Averages out to slowly losing.  Better than not losing or consistently being up.  I'm a bit worried about putting weight on over my trip... going to try and be reasonable yet have fun, and maybe be a bit more active than I might otherwise have been.  We shall see.  :)  After my trip, hoping to get better about woring out so I can buckle down a bit and get closer to my goal.

I am on the other side of WLS, fighting weight regain. I ma glad that I log my weight each week on Livestrong. It at least keeps me honest with myself. I read an intersting article comparing the RNY with the DS concerning weight regain. DS was more successful in both loss percentages and less weight regain. What got me tho was that the average weight regain for my group was 10%. Well Wilbur, I could live with that. I am at about 20% regain and I don't like that number at all. I got to get out of this winter box pretty soon because what I have been doing for weight/calorie balance just aint working.
I am still committed to my long term goals.

So instead of the constant 10 pounds to go , I have about 45 to go. It will be harder than last year, but still do-able. I hear that some people even lose weight without surgery.......

Oh, I have been even for three weeks, so I am happy I have stopped the gain part.

Hang in there Paul, you can do it.  One thing I love about you is your constant commitment to yourself and your goals.  Even when you know that you are making not-so-good choices, you are keeping yourself in the fight.  That right there is MORE than half the battle.  You will do it!!
