5 Day Pouch Diet... Day 1
Hello. It has been nearly 5 years since I had my weight loss surgery. I lost 148 pounds and although I have gained back 48 of those pounds, I have no regrets about having the surgery but I am having some difficulty getting back on track. I have decided that today I am going to start the 5 Day Pouch Diet. Does anyone who has done this before have any feedback, either positive or negative that they can share with me?... Anyone want to join me?... I will post my results for those who are interested.

I would like to know what to do for that as well. I took some stuff to clean me out yesterday and not even 10 seconds after I swallowed I got so sick, I was sweating, shaking, then cold falling asleep, I went and sat on the toilet just incase then stumbled my way into my bedroom and layed down for an hour slept it off then I was ok. I only drank like 1/4 of the bottle, it was like 3 chugs and geesh never again.

Hi Marsha. What an awful experience you had yesterday... ugh! ... I found some good info on the 5 day pouch diet just by going to the website www.5daypouchdiet.com ... I started it this morning and so far have had 16 ounces of water and a protein shake. I feel like I am starving right now and am having a difficult time being at home and trying to resist all of the holiday leftovers but am bound and determined to do this... Michelle
I haven't done the pouch test and I have a sleeve. But, along the same lines, I am self-imposing my liquids only diet on myself to try and kick the grazing/carb habit I started back up over the holidays. I'm thinking 5-7 days. I've been fine so far today- not hungry or desperately craving anything yet...
Keep us posted how it goes for you! :)

How did it go? I started my 5dpt today. i'm breastfeeding so it makes me a little nervous it will affect supply but I am also desperate to get back on track so I am doing it! Today so far (3 pm) 2 protein shakes and flavored water. Not overly hungry but head hunger has set in and I am planning all the foods I can eat for day 3 soft proteins!
Hey Nicole ~ congrats on the bambino, and finding your way back here!
I'm gonna play devil's advocate here, I hope you won't be offended. Did you check with your OB/pediatrician regarding doing the 5 day pouch test while breast feeding? I get that the scale is scaring you and that you want to get back to losing, but is it worth the potentially negative effect it could have on your milk supply, or the quality of milk your body produces for your baby?
Be uber careful now. You won't get this precious time back. Do everything you can to assure that your baby gets the quality and quantity of breast milk needed for such a crucial stage in his development - then you'll have no regrets.
Your tool will be there for you when you're ready, and so will we.

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Darla,
Yep it was fine to do. Baby and milk supply are both doing great, and it feels good to be getting back to healthier eating habits, which will also be much better for her as she continues to grow. She's really been enjoying the daily walks as well, the fresh air seems to help her sleep better.
