Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction
Hi Everyone! I have been MIA for a while, mostly just life got busy. But I have truly enjoyed coming back and reading up on all that is new! Was just wondering if any of you once you had your gallbladder removed, (mine was removed alittle over a year after Gastric Bypass) have had to deal with on going attacks and been diagnosed w/ Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. I will be having surgery to fix this problem in Dec,(surgeons will be Dr. Freeman and Dr. Leslie at The U) I will have a G tube in for a month (kinda nervous about that) the G tube is mostly for docs to have access if need be so they dont have to cut me open again. Just wondering how it turned out for others!!
Good morning Linda....great to see you back....it has been a long time!
I had my gall bladder removed years before my RNY. I have never had issues with it. I am so sorry you are having problems and will have to have another surgery. The G tube is more of a nuisance then anything. I had one for at least a month after my RNY. I remember when they finally took it out how wonderful that felt.
I am wishing you the very best with your surgery. Please keep us updated. Again....glad you are back!
Hugs....connie d

Yes, Yes,Yes!!! About 2 years after I had my Gull Bladder removed (all pre-RNY) my sphincter of oddi completelly closed down. I had an ERCP done where they go through your mouth and cauterize the sphincter to open it forever. I had to have to procedure done twice since the first time they ended up going into my pancreas and giving me pancreatitis. After I healed from that they did it again and got it right. What a relief. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
