SWAPKINS - November 12 tentative No location yet.
Put that bag in the bottom of your closet to collect all the stuff you shouldn't be wearing anymore. When you are loosing, you really should be letting go of things that are too big.
Make sure the clothes you're giving up are in good condition, clean, and size is identifiable.
When you arrive, please place your clothes on the marked table with the appropriate size, then "shop" the tables that have clothes in your size.
No money is exchanged, everything is free. Anything brought to Swapkins and left over will go to charity (battered women's shelter, other suggestions are welcome). Everyone who brings clothes to share will get a free giant IKEA bag to bring your new goodies home.
Accessories, bags and shoes are welcome, but only if they are in clean and in good shape.
I know it's getting close to the holidays and some of you are crafters. You may bring your hand made items to sell. There will be limited space for you to display yor items. You must arrive early, tend your products, handle your own money, and clean up. Anything you'd like to sell must be cleared by me - Jen Fairchild - before you can sell.
This event will be held in the Twin Cities area. I don't have a location yet. If you have a location suggestion, please post it here.
Please also respond if you are interested in participating/attending. This is a very successful event and always more so if we have lots of people coming. ALL are welcome, not just WLS folks. Tell your friends and family. All sizes of clothing are welcome. This means men's stuff too.
We haven't swapped kids/teens clothes. If there is enough interest, we can make it formal and I'll include it in the formal announcements. If you have teen/kid clothes you'd like to swap/donate, bring them. These will also be swap-able. Reply to this message if you want to swap kids clothes. Any leftover kid clothes will also be donated.
Let me know if you have any questions. I will update SWAPKINS on the board as details shake out.

Way to step up, Jen - YAY YOU!
I was going to suggest checking into the availability of the Depot (since Hopkins was the home of the very FIRST Swapkins!), but - probably not enough space there.
If anyone is affiliated with a church in a central part of the Metro, that ISN'T already hosting some sort of Holiday boutique that day, chances are a fellowship hall would have plenty of space and tables - and there could be a donation basket to collect a few dollars to give them in appreciation for their space.
I sure hope this happens! I have very little to donate and not a lot of need for clothes myself, but it has always been a great opportunity to meet new faces and re-connect with old ones!
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Have fun!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
How should we bring our stuff in? On hangers? Grouped by size? In boxes?
I am interested in participating!!!!

I live in Coon Rapids, but I'll be happy to travel anywhere. Let me know if you need help, and I'll let my support groups I belong to, know of this as well.
