The Weight Loss Journey

I picked up a "Save the Date" card in Dr. Ik's office a couple of weeks ago. Here's all I know. I've never gone to one of these seminars before so I don't know a thing about it. Some of it looks pretty interesting, tho, so I just may go.

A day of education and an evening of celebration for clinical providers and patients.

Presented by the bariatric centers at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, United Hospital, and Unity Hospital.

Day of Education 10 am - 5:30 pm

Addiction Transfer
Body Contouring and plastic surgery
Vitamin and mineral supplementation
Disordered eating
Mindfullness and goal setting

Target audience:
individuals considering weight loss surgery and those who are having or have had surgery
nurses, dietitians and other bariatric care providers.

Evening of Celebration 6-11 pm features a social hour, dinner, short program, dance and silent auction.
Participants may attend one or both events.

How exciting for you! I am so looking forward to hearing about your journey. One of the best things I ever did was to join a coffee group prior to surgery. The one I go to is the South of The River Group which meets today at the Caribou in Eagan Byerly's (off 494 and Pilot Knob) at 8:30, and then they alternate opposite weeks to Burnsville Panera at the BVL Mall at 8:30. I know this is short notice to come today, but I hope to meet you next week at Panera. I live in Minneapolis, and it is just about 15 minutes to get to either place.
