Health partners has a program that you have to follow and most clinics will know what you will have to do.  HP also has you do phone appointment with their nutrionist along with what your center will require.  The sleep study will help your sleep issues most likey.

Good luck on your journey and ask lots of questions on here. There is a lot of personal experiences on here.

I have HealthPartners and I was approved for the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I would recommend that you call HP directly so that they can verify 1) if your particular policy allows WLS; and 2) what the requirements are. I think my BMI was 49. I did not need to provide a diet history. HP does make you go through a 10 week phone program to prepare yourself for surgery. It seems like it will take forever, but it is good preparation for the major lifestyle changes that await you.

Actually you can find a list of requirements here too, but I still strongly recommend calling HealthPartners first to find out if your particular policy includes WLS. Not all of them do.

I think individual companies tailor their coverage. Just because one company covers WLS doesn't mean the next company does, too. Best to call to see what exactly is covered.

Yes HP through MN Care does cover but like others have said just call and make sure. I did right after I got my coverage through them and they were so awesome to work with. Yes you ahve to do the 10 week phone consultations but it goes by so fast. Lots of great information. HP all around is awesome for Gastric Bypass. Call and check so you have everything there is to know and get it done the right way

be aware also that sleep issues, chronic pain, and heartburn ARE health problems that can be helped by weight loss surgery.
