sewing
I used to sew most of my clothes in times past, but haven't for many, many years. I don't like wearing baggy clothes, and since it's so expensive to buy new during my wgt loss transitions, [plus I have had little luck at the thrift stores] I'm back to sewing.
The older I get the fussier I am about fit and style. Sewing is easy....getting the perfect fit is not. B UT, I have the blouse pattern down now....I can create any style blouse from my basic pattern.
Pants are really tough to fit right and after at least 70 hours, 5 different pattern alterations and sewing 5 different samples, [I always sew sample garments to check fit] I FINALLY HAVE DONE IT!!!! I was determined to get the pants to fit right [that's one reason my nickname is Bulldog!!] and I was successful!!!!!!!
Now that I have well-fitting patterns, it will be easy to alter them as I lose wgt. YAY!! I'm liking clothes again.
Ya know what else I like? I like being able to cross my legs like a 'normal' person!!
Blessings on your day!
Click&Sew automatically creates custom fit fashion patterns for a wide variety of figure types drafted to your measurements.
I use this, but you still have to follow their directions and make sample garments. Once I have a basic pattern that fits using click & sew, I can then use that pattern as the basis for altering any store-bought pattern...any style. Pretty cool!
the actual sewing is easy....the fitting is a stinker! I always make muslin samples of any pattern I haven't altered before. I finally got a pants pattern altered correctly after making at least 5 samples!
Now that I've sewn 6 blouses, my bra cup size has changed!!!! But ultimately that's what I want!
