This is AWFUL

For decades I've gone to bed with the happy thought that when I wake up I'll have coffee first thing. I buy Sumatra from Peet's http://www.peets.com/ in Berkley, CA. I grind what I need for that brew and make it using a coffee press. I enjoy a leisurely pot before the day starts. Well, not anymore! I think I've lost my taste for coffee!! It's awful!!! I was sleeved not quite 2 weeks ago and this morning I made my first cup since surgery. Just a single cup. It's still sitting here getting cold. I'm not interested in it. Sigh.... Well, maybe things will change. Now I don't have anything to look forward to when I wake up. I guess I could go for a walk.....

I really missed coffee, didn't have any caffeine at all after my surgery at first.

I am back having my coffee every day, so don't lose hope.  :-)

You could go for a walk...

I LOVE Peet's coffee! went frequently when I lived in SO. CA. I only drink decaf, but roast my own beans. FORTUNATELY, I haven't lost my taste... I adore coffee!

How are you feeling?

Hey, Leda Bulldog. I'm feeling GREAT!!!

You roast your own beans? I'm impressed. I'm a Peetnick - which means I'm on a regular coffee shipping schedule. I had to call to skip my next shipment because I'm not drinking what I have. Boohoo....

I understand, I really do.  I LOVE my morning coffee.

However, some perspective is called for here.  IT'S JUST COFFEE!!  If your BODY is deciding that for now, at least, it doesn't want any?  If that's one of your biggest disappointments?

YOU GO, GIRL!!!   Your newer, smaller, healthier body will ABSOLUTELY be worth it!!!

Put that money away towards new clothes, or a trip or something to REWARD yourself with when you discover you've reached a NORMAL SIZE !!!

Nothing tasted right to me for a long time.  Then slowly most things started to taste better or the way I remembered.  Give it time, it may come back to you.

How come we never lose our taste for chocolate or frosting?????

LOL Tess.....

I too went through odd taste buds for a bit......

I wish my likeness for choc. etc. would have went away.....

I too am a coffee drinker, but I didn't touch it for the 1st 3 months....I was told coffee was a no no......And if I had any to drink an extra 8oz. water.....

OK OK, I'll stop whining about my coffee and instead appreciate and listen to what my body is asking for. And maybe I'll go for a walk....
