Scar tissue in pouch opening??

I have had a pain in my chest for a week.  It is painful and all I can eat is soft food.  I called the surgeon and they have me scheduled for an endoscopy on Friday.  They said it sounds like scar tissue blocking my opening.  I am really scared that I should just wait it out.  What if that is not the problem, then I got all excited for nothing.   Has anyone else had this and can tell me what it feels like so I can cancel the surgery Friday and not make a mountain out of a molehill?

I haven't heard of that before,, But I've had an endoscopy and there a breeze.....I didn't even know I had it done....Let them do it, it may show what they think or may show something else.....I would want to know what's going on in there, why wait?  No do it, get it done.....

Hugs, Kelly

Hi Nadine,

I am really glad that you called. I too have had an endoscopy and they were in the room telling me that they were going to begin, and the next thing I knew, they were done and gone!

I feel your anxiety, but the good new is, with the procedure, they will be able to find out what is going on. Yeah, I vote for finding out what is causing you the pain. Then you will be able to move forward.

Hugs,

It's important you keep your app't. The endoscopy is EASY! You want to find out why you're having so much pain.
Blessings to you, Leda

Nadine, It is so much better to know than to fear or be un-informed. Get it done and get better sooner. Hope to see you soon.

I vote for keeping the appt as well.  I've done an Endoscopy and it's a breeze.  Find out what's going on so you can feel better.  Good luck.

I agree, you should definately keep your appointment.  I just had my first Endoscopy just over a month ago and the worst thing about it is not know what it's like.  I didn't feel a thing.  I remember the dr telling me that they are putting something in my mouth to keep me from biting down on the tube, then the next thing I (kind of) remember is giggling on the way to the recovery room.  Then I got to relax at home for the rest of the day.

I hope all goes well.
