Hi everyone, I am six weeks out and am having a rough couple of days. First off I am wondering if anyone else has expirenced what I am going through? I never feel hungry but I never feel full as far as my body is concerned. I just eat when I am spose too I measure my food (1/2 cup) and when it's gone I am done. Am I eating too much? The last couple days the head hunger is soooo bad it is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!  Any suggestions for head hunger?
Thanks everyone for listening.

Yep I have had some of the exact same feelings in the last week.  One meal it seems like i could eat over a half a cup and then the next i barely get over a 1/4.  I'm always worrying if i'm eating right even got back to weighing myself more often.  Some days this tool drives you batty.   Now time to start working out regular basis.

I'm right there with ya Krissy.  At first I had a serious aversion to the smell of food but that has gone away quickly.  Food smells good again.  I never feel hungry either.  I can eat around a 1/2 cup as well.  Some days a little more, some days a little less.  I have head hunger too but I just eat my allotted 3 meals a day and so far haven't had issues straying off the plan.  I keep on telling myself it will get better.  Stay positive!

Every plan is different, so I'd ask your nurse....They should have given you a booklet and plan to follow....But in my opinion, your eating too much....It also depends on what your eating though...

1-3 months was litterally 2 Tablespoons at each meal.....

For me, My plan was 1/4c. at 3 months out, 1/2c. at 6 months out, 3/4c. at 9 months out and 1c. there after......

The guidlines I was given are

Day 2-13: 1/2 cup
Day 14-27: 1/2 - 3/4 cup
Day 28 and on: 3/4-1 cup

My 'problem' is I DO feel hunger which is the pits. I'm not quite 3 months out and I don't always 'feel' satisfied after the evening meal. I know this is a head issue. I'm trying all sorts of new recipes to help with this.

Before my surgery, my body could rarely tell if it was truly hungry. Now I do feel hunger, but sometimes I think I'm hungry because I'm very tired in the afternoon and, of course, eating something perks me up. So I'm still trying to figure things out as my body is changing.

WLS is NOT the easy way out. [even though a lot of people who haven't had the surgery believe that] It's just a tool and we still have to do the work. I have to keep telling myself it's a process learning about my body.

Hang in there...it's great having this forum so we can support each other.
