Damn you, Yogurt parfait

Yogurt, strawberries and some granola.  Dump-city.  I hate that!!  There is nothing to do except wait through a dumping syndrome episode, right?  Close your eyes, manage the nausea and over-tiredness.  Would walking help?  Barfing would be too late, I assume.

How come I can cram in some cookies or Sour Patch Kids and not have a problem, then when I get on track with a sound-choice for breakfast, I dump.  Curses you sucrose, glucose, lactose and other 'toses!!

Dan,

Dumping takes no prisoners.  I'm nearly 8 years post-op and can dump on the most stupid things....and then fill my pie-hole with pie and be fine.  The only thing is wait it out, I usually try and lay down and be real still...or I've thrown up when it was really bad.  (cherry Nyquil!)  Sleeping it off is the best for me, but if I'm at work...laying in the car with the seats back is the next best thing.

Take care and hang in there.  Be thankful you do dump, it keeps you from getting too ****y with the pouch!

I am thankful for the dump reminder.  Per your comment, I leaned back in the chair, focused and closed my eyes.  I'm finally through it.

Dan,

OMG, are we one of the same????

I've been trying to eat right, eat healthy....The same thing is happening to me....I get the shakes and dizzy.....I don't get nauseous.....

I can eat sugar cookies, etc. NO problem....Then have my protein shake or high protein coatmeal, and BAM, dizzy/shaky.....WTH?

I'm right there with ya.....I usually end up trying to eat some jerky or part of a Zone bar to combat this feeling.....uhhhh

Hey, there!  Yeah, we're on the same path, I guess.  Out of the blue dumping sux.

I just came out of it, and now I'm craving protein of some sort and my hands are shaking like I've had a triple-espresso.

Thanks for the empathy.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather (or desk) feeling cwappy Dan.  I've recently had a grouchy pouch when I ate granola and today I tried to eat some bagel crisps and got sick on those.

To date I have been able to eat anything crunchy/crispy like chips/crackers etc.. and since I quit drinking with meals/snacks - WHAM... grouchy pouch!

Fortunately they are not things I "need" to eat - so I'm good.

Take care and hope to see you at coffee soon!

Stephanie

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!

Hi Dan, bummer about the dumping!  Can you add a little vanilla protein powder in it maybe?????

I do the with the Chobani yogurts and it stopped me from reacting.  Just a thought.

I hate that "Oh crude, I'm sick and there isn't anything to do but ride it out feeling" YUCK!

Hope today is a better day.  Have a great weekend.
