Surgery 2/24 @ Park Nicollet. Anyone else?
Hello!
I figured there might be a few pre-op lurkers like myself on here and thought it wouldn't hurt to ask!
I'm getting my VSG done on Feb 24th with Dr Jones. I'm super excited. I start my liquid diet tomorrow (Vday - not so excited! *laugh*). But I'm ready to get this done and start my new way of life.
I live south of the river and wish I could get together with you guys. But my ex works every Saturday morning so I always have the kids. Has anyone ever been to the support group offered at PN? Are the people welcoming?

I have been to the PN sessions and they are wonderful, they had good leadership and attendance. By the way several people do bring their kids to the South of the River coffees. Other people have brought their children, depending on attendance, sometimes they sit with us and sometimes they sit next to us where they socialize with the other kids,
GL on your surgery - Dr. Jones is a great surgeon! I know the LD is hard - I remember posting something like "Liquid Diet Hell" during mine because I was travelling during it with a bunch of guys and had to sit there at the restaurant with my Slim-Fast while they all chowed down on burgers and fries! It really wasn't that hard, knowing why I was doing it. Just make sure you have something savory to sip on at times - I got so tired of sweet drinks and things like bullion really helped.
The PN support group has changed a lot since I have had my surgery and I haven't been to one in quite a while. I do know that I always felt very welcome and it is a wonderful resource for people who are pre-op and newly (1st year) post op. Some people go religiously just to stay true to their pouch and to keep on track and focused.
Definitely try to get to a coffee - I have brought my kids several times and they annoy me more than anyone else! They are def welcome at coffees (not at PN support though).

Hello,
I'm later than you- May 19- but alo getting a sleeve with Dr. Jones. I am also south of the river in AV and hoping to make it to coffee sometime. My kids are in skating for a few more weeks on Sat. AMs, but after that I plan to become a regular. I say bring your kids sometime and check it out.
Best wishes on your surgery! I wish mine was coming up so soon. :)
