5 -hour energy drink
The Park Nicollet program has 'no drinking from 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after meals' as one of it's primary rules. Adding liquid to your pouch when there's food in it simply allows that food to flow out of your pouch easier, which means you don't feel satisfied/full as long, which makes people tend to eat more.
As for those energy drinks? I stay away from them like the plague. A) because they are ridiculously expensive (from what I've seen), and B) because when I was getting re-certified for a Girl Scout trip a few years ago, an EMT told me that she had seen too many people suffer dire consequences from drinking too many of them. The ingredients that MAKE them 'energy drinks' are not natural to our bodies, and can really mess a person up - 18 year olds having heart attacks & such. She was very strongly opposed to anyone consuming them.
I don't know, I'm not a doctor, but since I heard that, it just cemented my desire to never go there.

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I haven't had one, but I figured when I had the surgery that I put a lot of work into clearing my body of my various addictions--mine was to Diet Coke--and I refuse to tie myself back to that addiction. (In the interest of full disclosure--I have gone back to caffeinated coffee, so I'm not totally free of my addictions, LOL.)
It's up to you, but I'd stay away from that drink if I you can. Also, I agree with Darla--my nutritionist emphasizes no drinking with food--30 minutes before and especially 30 minutes afterward.
