The most devastating news

I have no advice, only support and encouragement.

I think it's AWESOME that you haven't shyt-canned your LD after hitting this unpleasant obstacle - I think that shows just how READY you are for WLS, so YAY YOU!!!

On the other hand, you do have some serious decisions to make about the cost.  I know that in MY current situation, personally, there's no WAY I would have the ability to commit to a significant financial obligation, regardless of how badly I wanted or NEEDED it.  But if you DO have enough wiggle room in your finances to make payments, being as ready as you are to change your life and take charge of your health, it would absolutely be worth the sacrifice.  A year from now?  Shoot - you'd cry if you really had a clue.

As for your family?  Support is extremely important.  That's why WE are here.  WE GET IT.  This is about you, not them.  They're probably scared sh*tless for you, and in a way, you almost have to appreciate that.  But they haven't done the research, they aren't prepared for this the way you are.  If you can go ahead with your surgery, just save them a big 'ol "I told you so" for later.

Blessings to you and your decision.
