Is it normal to be down 24 pounds since coming home 5 days ago? How soon have others gone back to work after laproscopic RNY?

Thanks
Dave

Dave....lucky you 24 pounds already. You probably lost a lot of fluid too. Men do lose faster then women so I wouldn't be worried about it. That is just my opinion. If you feel you need to call your surgeon and ask them that would be good too.

Have a great day...enjoy all those WOW moments to come!!!

Hi. Good luck with the days ahead. My husband and I own an inventory business and I went back to work three days after surgery, but you have to be ready to stop when ur body gets tired, which happens more than u expect.

I went back 2 weeks after surgery and Dr. I had me go back part-time for the first 2 weeks I was back.  Which was fine with me because I got sooooo tired so fast.  I do remember losing a lot right away, but not 24lbs.  Connie's right: men do lose faster than women.  If you are at all concerned about anything you should always call your surgeon's office.  That's why they're there.  They expect calls.

Good luck to you on your journey!

Wow! 24, that's great!  As long as you are getting your fluids in etc, it should be fine.

I don't work, but kept my 2 yr old in daycare for 4 wks because I couldn't lift him etc.  I think it depends on what you do for work.  It really varies from person to person and how you are feeling.

The best of luck to you!

Tess
