New to this forum.

Hi everyone,
My name is Nita and I live in Forest Lake.  I had an RNY with Dr. Smith 8 years ago next Sunday.  I have been putting some weight back on and was wondering if anyone can recommend a support group near here?  I need to get back into my good post-GBS surgery habits and someone suggested I start attending group meetings again.  I went a LOT before and right after my surgery but we moved down here and I never found another.  I think I need that "group mentality" to help me get back on and stay on track.  I really would like to reach my final goal someday!  

Well, I hope to be a more active member of this board, it's nice knowing there are others that have had this surgery near me! 

4th Monday at St Joseph's St Paul 6:30 PM.Connections: Post-Operative Bariatric Surgery Support Group

Monthly support group for patients who have undergone weight loss (bariatric)surgery and are at least 3 month post-surgery.

The group meets the fourth Monday of each month

This group meets in the new patient tower, 3M Education Center, rooms A/B.

Images Graduate Group
This support group is for people who had weight loss surgery more than one year ago. Topics focus on maintaining weight loss, as well as motivation to continue lifestyle changes.

No pre-registration required. Spouse, partners and other adult support persons are welcome to attend.

When: Second Thursday of the month, 6 to 7:30 p.m
Where: Unity Hospital, lower level classrooms, 550 Osborne Road, Fridley, MN
Cost: Free

There are also Saturday coffee groups in Maple Grove and South of the River (Burnsville), watch for weekly postings.
