Post-holiday Monday Morning Weigh-in
Good morning, all! Now is the time to face reality, make and keep our resolutions for the new year.
I did okay over the holidays, much to my surprise.
Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 192.4
This week: 189.2
This week: Lost 3.2 lbs this week.
Plus the 1.9 I lost last week, and that means I shed 5.1 lbs. over the two holiday weeks. Wow! I think it helped that I had more time to go walking--my DD and I did 5K walks at the MoA a number of times, yesterday included. I can really feel my glutes!!

Checking in after surgery/holiday time.
Starting weight 335 pounds
Dec. 6th (pre-surgery) - 218.0 pounds
This week 206.2 pounds
Total loss in December of 11.8 pounds!
Total loss so far - 128.8 pounds!!
Who knew!! I just I should have had my hysterectomy sooner. I seemed to have restarted my weight loss in December after surgery, but I can tell that I am already going back to my slow loss again. Now that my incisions have healed, I should be able to restart walking. I still have a couple of weeks before I can lift anything yet though!
I'm only 6.2 pounds away from Onederland....something I wasn't sure I'd ever see!

Starting Wght: 233.8
Last Week: 194.6
This Week: 193.2
Lost -1.4 since last week, not bad for a holiday. Im sure we all splurged a little over the holiday, so we cannot beat ourselves up over it. For the month of December I lost -9.6 lbs. Hoping old man winter goes away soon so I can get outside & do my walking!

I hope the confessional is open. I do think it is important to post the bad weeks as well as the sucessful weeks otherwise others will lose the benefits of "a good example of a bad example."
I have been "out of my element" for most of the last two months, living in either daughters home, or son's home. I came home after the traditional Christmas holiday, but I did celebrate with family in Philadelphia.
I got home 24 hrs before our family get together. I figured I could brace myself for the occation, but I was NOT ready for the fact it has been a four day food extravaganza. It is no wonder I have issues, I learned it from may family and passed these bad habits on to the rest. Every one brought their favorite food and it has been a long haul.
The worst part is that I was still could only eat a small portion at the meal, but grazing seemed to be no problem. No limit, no dumping no nothing. So like others I will have to refocus and start thinking thin, like THE PARTY IS OVER thinking, and onto diet and exercise.
It is hard to say what I gained, so it depends from where I am counting, but lets say 7-9 ponds UP so I am back to my October 24 weight, BUT I am back on the treadmill and I think company will be leaving soon.
Weight 222 today, lowest weight two weeks ago was 213
Congratulations to all of you that stayed on track!! Nicole, good to see your post, I am happy you are doing so well.

It is time for those resolutions to kick in, isn't it? Even though I lost, I wasn't as careful as I should have been, and I awakened my sweet tooth. Too many Christmas cookies!
I need to refocus on protein first, getting my water and vitamins, and more intense workouts.
Lori25, if you ever want to walk early in the am at the Mall of America, let me know. I like to walk outside, but not if it's icy--the last thing I need is to fall down, 'cause I always hurt myself. :-/

Hi everyone!
It was a tough holiday for me, not weight wise, I lost but on a personal level it was hard. First Christmas after divorce. I feel like a little child but I didn't have one present to open, my ex did not take the kids shopping for them to pick something little out for me. I took them to buy for him. They asked me, what am I to do? Say no? Anyway.....lots of long stories...
Starting weight Nov. 2: 278
Last week: not sure...probably 231?
Today: 229

Hi everyone!
It's been a VERY long time since I have posted. I had surgery back in 2008; highest weight was 292, lowest was 180 in July 2009, and now I'm at 213. But enough is enough, I'm getting things back on track. I'm hoping to start attending the support group in St. Louis Park at PNC, and maybe come to coffee sometime. I realize now that having people in your life who truly understand the WLS journey is so important to maintaining focus, accountability, and sanity.

Hi everyone!
Like Robyn W., I too have not posted for a long time. I had my surgery back in 2007, my lowest weight was 127 (but I thought I was too thin at that weight), my weight maintained at 135 for almost 2 years, then 2010 came...bad, bad year. I had a hyst. in Feb and have had to be on hormone replacement therapy (which started the weight gain), lost my job, and now I graze and have been maintaining between 144 - 147.
My Monday weight was 146.5.
Time to get back to basics...protein, protein, protein...AND connecting with the OH family again.
Looking forward to walking this journey with you all again...
