Hi guys and gals,

I am so excited to say my surgery went well and I have started back at work today. I am still on full liquids, but I am here!!!  There is a support group at my hospital, but I was wondering if any of you knew of any others. Maybe one with some VSG patients? Please let me know... THX!!!

I would be interested in a group like this - am planning on a VSG in January and also live in the west metro.

I would be interested also. Surgery one week from tomorrow. I live in south metro but work in Edina so close to Hopkins. I know that Methodist has a support group that is open to anyone not just Park Nicollet patients. But we could certainly start our own little group!

yeah!!  Good for you!  I am also interested in a support group for VSG patients!  I live in Stacy, MN but would be willing to drive!  I have 2 more psych appts. then meet back with the surgeons office to submit to health partners so hoping to have my VSG in March or April depending on how long it takes to get approved.  So glad to hear you are doing well!

There is a meeting in Elk River the 1st and 3rd mondays of every month.  It has RNY, lap band and VSG'ers.  Although most are RNY.  I have only been there once, but very supportive and friendly group.  Me and another gal are VSG'ers.  Let me know if you're interested.

Hey guys - I joined South of the River coffee support group from here, it is a mish mash of pre-ops, post-ops, bands, RNY, VSG folks. 

We meet every Saturday - rotating between Panera Bread in Burnsville and Caribou inside Byerly's in Eagan.  We usually meet around 8:30 and go until whenever.  Some bring spouses, kids, etc.  It is a great group of people and so very helpful.

This coming Saturday is Burnsville - Panera Bread.  The group size varies from small to LOTS of us! 

Everyone is welcome and we all support and help each other.  We even bring in clothes and share!

Wow, thanks for the responses. I think my first step will be to start a group on this website, if I can. i would like to start this up!! Thanks Shooter, but Burns and Eagan I really far for me on a Saturday. I plan on attending Methodist's support group, but would like more than just this. So Everyone, please add me to your friend list so we can stay in touch!!

I have started a West metro support group online to get us going, then we can progress to physical meetings, I really hope this goes well. I tried to access some of you for friends, but could not. So please add me!

Hello - I'm interested in your VSG group!  I'm actually in Eagan, but love the idea of chatting with others specific to VSG especially as it is somewhat newer and it's hard to find others who have had the procedure.  I've enjoyed the Abbott support group, and really want to try the south of the river Saturday coffee group as well, but would also appreciate being part of this VSG group (surgery was on 10/14/10).
