I'm not always in control, but I am in Charge

Yep saying "I'm not always in control, but I am in Charge" really sums up where I am now 10 months out. The pouch has healed and I have a lot more food choices. If I wouldn't have started snacking, I would be a few pounds lower, but I have also learned to make so many good choices along the way, that I am trying to forgive myself and carry on the higher percentage of the time.

I was out of my controlled element for the past three weeks. I ended up losing 1 pound, so I am still going in the correct direction. I am still amazed, that if I eat quality dense protein, I will feel full for so much longer than by eating foods that slide by the pouch easier. Meaning, that overall I eat less when I eat correctly.

One thing I didn't see in the post operative diet brochure was that I could eat high calorie foods like nuts and cheese early on because they were in such small quantities, but I should transition bach to less calorie dense foods after my quantities grew.

Well If I was smart enough, I would just view it as a math problem. Must be why I struggled before, I just wasn't good at math.

So while I am not always in control, I am in charge of my future direction, and I am better at directions than math.

 Paul you look great!

The fact that you are thinking these things through means you are still actively in the game!  I applaud you!

Hope to see you at coffee after the 1st of the year.

Happy Holidays!
