I am now on Day 2 of my Liquid Diet. Not bad so far. I am use to not eating for a couple days. I think Day 3 and 4 are going to be bad. 8 more Days till Surgery and this is all worth it. I am always told not good for you not to eat. Well in this instance it is the best thing. It is good for me because in the end I will hopefully be Healthy. That is my Goal. I feel so Blessed that I am given another chance at a Healthy Life. I will not mess this up. I can do it...I started this Journey back on July 22 2010. Not bad that 5 Months later I am having Surgery. It seems so much longer that I started this Journey but it hasn't been. Nice Christmas Present to me and my Family. For me especially. Still wondering how and when I am telling my children that I am doing this. Blended Family of 9 kids. Range from Ages 15 to 29. They all know that I am having surgery but they have not asked why yet. They just are guessing that its my Knee. Any ideas? My Husband says tell them only if they ask. Oldest son keeps telling me I should look into WLS Surgery I might feel better. I guess I will think of telling them at Christmas

You'll know when you are ready to share your journey with all of them.  You are doing the right thing for your health and for your family!  It's a great opportunity and I wish you all good blessings.

You are the one that gets to chose who and when to communicate this procedure. i told my adult children and they told many others. I have been fairly open about it, yet I have met others that consider the whole procedure a VERY private matter.

As far as the protein drink plan, I got to where I was so comfortable with the fullness and taste, that I really was reluctant and afraid post surgery to transition back to normal food. I ended up adding some spices to give it a  burn or kick in the end. There are several places to find some good drink recipies and variations if you get stuck in a rut.
