Hi from Burnsville! I'm new here.

Hi!  Found this site last week, and I've really enjoyed reading your posts :)

I have dieted for years (my entire life pretty much), and am now thinking about pursuing wls.  I am excited to be attending an information session on December 7 at Park Nicollet- it will be great to hear about their program and the next steps that I need to take.

I have not yet talked to my doctor (I don't really have a specific doctor that I go to) or my insurance (Healthpartners) about the surgery.  Does anyone have a doctor in/near Burnsville that they recommend that I go to?  Any advice about working with Healthpartners on this?  Do you recommend the Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery Center, or is there a better one (that takes Healthpartners) that I should be looking at?

First I would recommend talking to Healthpartners and make sure that your Policy covers it. Everyone is different with different Policys through them. Check with them first and let us know what they said. Do you have Healthpartners through your work or the State or what?

Hi & Welcome to the website. I am located just south of you in New Prague. Nice to see so many on here from the areas of Burnsville, Lakeville & Surrounding areas.  :)

 Welcome to the Minnesota forum. There is a South of the River coffee group that meets in Burnsville and Eagan on alternating Saturdays. Please join us even before surgery. You can ask us questions and meet some pretty nice people that are working toward success together.
   This surgery isn't magic, but it is a wonderful thing if handled with care.  

   I believe this coming Saturday will be at the Burnsville Panera starting at 8:30 We usually gather just to the right of the entrance. Some of us will have water bottles.

Hope you find the info you need...support groups are for pre surgery people too....try to attend them...you will find an abundance of answers to your questions.

Vacationlover I have health partners and am newbie here.  Health partners has a bunch of hoops for you to jump through that they require, but I did get through all of them and have my pre-op class on the 2ns and surgery on the 15th.  If you want to know anything about the HP experience let me know.
