Medical ID's?

I was just wondering if any of you were medical alert bracelets/necklaces?  I've read on other forums that they are recommended.  If you do wear one, what do you have on it?

Thanks,

Brenda

No, I should have one stating I have an Antibody in my blood and need a very specific blood in case of emergency transfussion............. but I keep not doing it............... my bad.

Not really sure why you'd need one?  Did they give a specific reason?

I've been told because of the No NSAIDS rule and that it is unsafe to have a Blind NG Tube after having an RNY.

The Blind  NG Tube I can understand.
A couple of advil is not going to kill you.

Some people are extra sensitive to ibuprofen post RNY, prone to ulcers.  But sometimes acetaminophen  just won't do the trick - so I was told liquigels are the way to go. They dissolve very quickly, therefore are less likely to irritate the pouch lining.

There is a good discussion on this topic from an earlier post (2007)
