Mines on the 19th....and I feel like it's taking forever...but when I think about it, these 6 months have gone by really fast since I started everything.

It'll be here before you know it! :)

That stinks that you have to do a liquid diet for 10 days. I have to do it just the one day before my surgery. My advice, just try to keep your eye on the prize.

I am a November surgery person too. How long do you guys have to be on a all liquid diet after surgery? I am 3 weeks.

My doctor old me that the "first fat" the body loses is off of the liver. The RNY operation is right under the liver. So, my Dr told me he could do a better job if I helped him by losing 20 pounds before surgery. I lost 50 because I wanted to help him as much as possible.

I will likely lose a good 30lbs by the time my date is actually here too...I am having Thanksgiving with my family early this year on Saturday so I dont have to drink broth after cooking a big meal...that would be hard.  On Thanksgiving Day we will just have a small meal like a roast chicken or something nice but not huge so I wont have so much work to do and not be able to eat anything.

I started hitting up the thrift stores around town today too...got myself 3 pairs of cotton lounge pants and a jogging suit in smaller sizes so I will have something to wear as my weight drops...AND I only spent $10!!!

Anyone have any other good ideas about clothing for the first year?  I know I wont be able to wear anything for long so buying a whole bunch of new stuff all the time is not an option for me.  I dont mind thifts stores tho...great bargains!  Im a casual kind of girl who love the jeans and capris and tshirts

So far I have lost 27lbs, because I too had to loose 20lbs before surgery. I plan on doing the thrift stores as well. I think it's going to work out nicely that we will loose a lot of weight while it's still winter. I probably won't buy new clothes until the spring.
