I have a date!
I have been lurking on here for a while now, posting very little. I want to thank you all, you dont know how much I have learned here. I even feel like I know some of you pretty well! Dr Bradley Pierce will be doing my RNY on 11/17/10. I am so excited I cant stand it! I think I have everything ready except for a good thourough house cleaning. I know I will come up with many questions and I feel good knowing I can come here and get them!
Let this journey really begin!

One of the keys to success is good support. Most hospitals conduct nurse lead meetings. I have found them to be quite helpful, and you can attend any one out there, you aren't limited to surgeon or brand. I like the St Joseph and United-Wildwood meetings to be the best for me.
In addition, I have been attending the "South of the River" coffee group. We meet on Saturdays, one week at the Burnsville Panera, and the alternating week at Byerly's Grocery in Eagan. Next week is in Eagan. They statrt at 8:30 and go for a couple of hours (because we are having so much fun.) There is nothing better than making friends, getting good ideas and lots of positive input from fellow WLS people. Come join us and focus on success. Love to meet you.

Hi & Congrats Laura! I too live in New Prague. If you are up to a walking buddy or want to work out at "The Fitness Center" Let me know after your surgery. This website is awesome, as are the people here who use it. Its nice we can have this as a tool to help us along the way. I had my RNY Surgery on 10-13-10, and am doing great so far. I didnt experience any pain once I got home from the hospital, so I didnt need any of the pain meds, which I think helped my recovery much faster. I hope you have the same post surgery luck I did. Hang in there its a wild ride. We are all here for ya if you need any help along the way. Keep in touch. Lori
