Marsha:

I can't offer any advice on the woman issues, but I have been able to manage the pooping problem by consuming the protein fiber bars I make.  I will post the recipe if you are interested.  So, to summarize, I know s#%&, but I don't know s#%& about women.

Seriously, though, Marsha, you strike me as a very determined person.  You might still be struggling, but you are still fighting, too.  That fighting spirit, bolstered by your inner strength, will carry you to the success you are seeking.   Good luck with the woman issues, as well.

I'm sorry Marsha-you are a fighter tho!!  Do you think those darn hormones could be part of the prob?  They stink, I know!!
I too was bleeding often a few years ago and had a "uterine ablation" and worked real well for me.  I ultimately ended up have a complete hysto. as my onco. demanded it but the ua worked for me.
I swear that us women struggle  with weight issues because we are full of raging hormones!

Hi, Marsha.

I have been struggling, too, for a while, but much better in the last few weeks.  I've seen your posts before, and like everyone else has said, you keep plugging away, you don't give up, and because of that, I am sure you will find success.

The best to you!

Marsha....I know how frustrating this can be. Seems so hard some days. You will get through this.

I have joined Edi's Accountability Group on Facebook and it really is helping. Are you on Facebook...I never see you there? There are about twenty of us having this weight loss struggle. We are trying to help each other.

I think you need to get your hormonal issues straightened out first....that can be a lot of your problem. Just do the best you can for now. Don't stress over it. Take care of one thing at a time.

I always keep you in my prayers but I will be saying a few special ones as well. Let me know how the testing goes. I am worried about you!!!

Love you sweetie...HUGE HUGS...connie d

Marsha, hon, we need a hug.  Come to Maple Plain and hug me, dammit.

I had mega-fibroids, so I've been through the female issues from hell - tried the ablation thing, that did nothing for me.  Tried Depo shots, and again - nothing.  NOTHING HELPED ME!  I finally had a hysterectomy in '02, and I'd be hard pressed to rank which procedure was more life-saving for me - that, or my WLS!  (Yes, it was THAT SIGNIFICANT.  I had an 8 month period once.  That's right, approx. 240 straight days of BLEEDING HEAVILY.  Talk about the walking dead...)

I. DO. NOT. MISS. MY. AUNT. FLO. ONE. BIT.  I'll spare anyone the more graphic details, just be open to whatever your doc recommends to solve that female crap - it really f's with a person's state of mind.  And we all KNOW that if we're in a f'd up state up mind, we reach for our old friend - food.

I agree, tho - you keep coming here and posting, and that's a GOOD thing!  It shows that you are not willing to throw in the towel, but want to keep fighting.  So I have a hard time believing you won't WIN!!!

Love you, sweet thang

AMITIZA 24MCG. TWICE A DAY......
I've been taking these pills since about 6-9 months out....They help me stay regular.....Kelly

This medication is used to treat certain types of constipation (chronic idiopathic constipation, irritable bowel syndrome with constipation). Chronic idiopathic constipation has an unknown cause and is not due to diet, other diseases, or drugs. This medication may improve symptoms such as bloating and abdominal discomfort, improve stool texture, lessen the need to strain, and decrease the feeling of not completely relieving oneself. Lubiprostone belongs to a class of drugs known as chloride channel activators. It works by increasing the amount of fluid within your intestines, making the passage of stool easier.

I just wanted to offer you a hug and say you are awesome!  You are having issues right now so I wouldn't worry too much about the eating aspect until you figure out what's going on in your body that's causing your issues and you get those taken care of.

Also, I can honestly say I understand where you are coming from with the female issues (I got the Mirena IUD so I've had Aunt Flo hangin out w/me since March 23, 2009); not the leision or the cyst, but I have the constant "quality time" with AF...stupid ***** I wish she would die!....oh sorry did I say that outloud?

Anyway!  I've also suffer from chronic constipation and have my entire life.  One thing that I have found is that my body can get used to the dietary supplements and aids so I rotate Miralax out e/o month.  On the months that I don't take the Miralax I take Metamucil so my body doesn't get too used to either one of the active ingredients in either product (Miralax active ingrediant is POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL and Metamucil is PSYLLIUM).  I do this along with eating a fiber bar every day which still doesn't garuntee that I go every day, but I atleast go a minimum of 1-3 times a week which is much better than the 1-3 times a month that I was going!

If your regular doc doesn't have any suggestions for you, I would like to suggest maybe try to get an appointment with a gastroenterologist because they could give you a much better idea of what you have going on in your intestines and what not that most other doctors can...also they could give you a really good idea of what you could do to help things move along and out.

Sending good thoughts and hugs your way!

Hey Rick, I'd sure like your Fiber Bar recipe pretty please!

Sarsha!    I am sorry about the girl issues.  I had them all too and it's just the worst!  I too had the fibroids and a cysts and then finally a mass on the right ovary.  Finally I said enough and had a full hysterectomy 2 yrs ago.  One of the best decisions I've ever made.  It's a personal decision and not all gals feel the same way.  I was just simply "done" with all of my girlie bits and with my Mom, Dad and Sister all having cancer, well I thought I'd just get rid of anything where cancer was the most likely to form!  Advocate for yourself and get them to do what you feel needs to be done.

Ya know I was doing great until I went to Italy and I ate more than I had and I actually broke my no sugar/sweets rule and tried a bite of this and that of local things.  I wish I hadn't cuz it awoke the evil beast!  I'm not kidding.  I've struggled since I got home.  So I understand how it can be.

Do the best you can while you figure out your girl issues and then hit it hard.  I sure wish had had some of the magic answers for you, but as always wish you well!  Big hugs!

Tess

PS - did your daycare kids have a fun Halloween?  I just love seeing all of the little ones in their costumes!  My boys had a ball!
