2000 Miles
2000 Miles
I have been putting in some long hours at work this week, which has meant that I have been biking to and from the nearest commuter train station in the dark. The headlight on my bike is bright enough for me to see where I am going, but not so bright that I can’t glance up periodically at the stars and the moon as I pedal along. Contemplating the incredible vastness of the heavens does help to put my current workload and the other challenges in my life into proper perspective. This morning as I looked down from the glittering beauty of the pre-dawn sky and back at the road ahead, I realized that I had biked a little over 2,000 miles so far this year. In the bigger scheme of things, reaching that goal was a relatively small accomplishment, but one that would have been impossible for me to achieve prior to weight loss surgery. It also reminded me how good it feels to be a healthy man.

I have been a whole lot more active than in years past, but I am glad to have some goals presented to lead me on to more challenging heights that are within reach.
Cheers to your health.
