I know I am almost 3 years out and I should know this, but what can I take for a nasty cough?  Since surgery I have been sick 1 or 2 times and that there is a WOW moment, cuz I was always sick before.

I have a few kids that have a nasty cough as well, I have been disinfecting the toys everyday or trying too, but It just isn't enough.

Gotta love this MN weather, so if you can tell me what I can take that won't hurt my tummy, that would be great................

Marsha,
I have found they make a lot of SF cough medicines now. I also have found at my local Walgreens a cough suppressant in a gel capsule which is great...no nasty taste, no sugar either.
We've had bad coughs (luckily not me) in our house for over 4-weeks!!! I finally took my youngest in and she had bronchitis. Made husband go to walk-in last night and turns out so does he. Ugh!

During the day I use sf cough drops and during the night I do best w/ Vick's rubbed on the soles of my feet, covered in socks (I know, weird but it works for me) and the kids' vaporizor running in my room.

Vicks makes a product that can be added directly to the water in the hot mist humidifiers as well that makes the steam smell like vapo-rub and its VERY helpful...nothing to do wih the tummy at all!
