MPLS area DS support group guest speaker

Plastic surgeon Adam Lokeh will be speaking at our meeting this month on reconstructive plastic surgery after massive weight loss.  He will be showing before and after pictures and answering any questions you may have on the subject.  We meet on the third Monday of every month at the Perkins restaurant on 494 and France Ave. in the library room from 6:00pm until everyone has all of their questions answered!  We'd love to have you join us!  Let me know if you have any questions and if you plan to attend.  [email protected]

 Hi Tammy!!  I really want to come to a support group meeting and bring my hubby too!!  How often do you meet and is there a good crowd?

We have several of Dr. Ikramuddin's DS post-ops that come to the meetings and the size of our group varies but usually there are about 10-15.  Like I mentioned in the post, we meet on the third Monday of every month.  Most of the time the meetings are very informal.  If there is a specific topic you ever want covered, you can just let me know in advance so I can be prepared to cover it.  My DS was almost 7 years ago and I've been researching weight loss surgery for about 9 years.  I have relationships with all of the DS surgeons and many of the plastic surgeons in town since I work with them in my business. 

I would love to have you join us this Monday!  Adam Lokeh is a great plastic surgeon and has also undergone weight loss surgery himself so he really understands our issues.  He has preformed surgery on several of my support group members.  The latest was just this past Monday.  He preformed a procedure on my 14 year old son and a hernia operation on me so I can speak from personal experience as well as the results I've seen of close friends.  I think you'd really like him.  It's never too early to start looking at reconstructive plastic surgery since insurance usually covers some of it.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

You do not have to be a DS'er to attend this meeting; just understand that the discussion following the presentaion will be DS focussed.  However, our group members are free to leave at anytime during our meetings since we don't have a fixed end time so if you don't want to stay for the rest of the meeting, you don't have to.  We will have dinner before the actual presentation starts so he will probably answer some questions during that time since he will be having dinner with us.
