LIST???
Are you seeing a dietician? I would consult with them too.
My surgeon had me on a special diet 2-weeks prior to surgery and I think most do the same consisting of mainly just liquids, sf pudding/jello, cream/broth soups and protein supplement drinks.
After surgery I was sent home already made, frozen trays of meals which were really nice to not have to think about what to eat...however, I had no desire to really eat anyway so drank protein drinks mostly right away.
See what your surgeon's office suggest you do pre-surgery AND post. Good luck!

Someone once said to me pre-op "we can give you a list all you want, but it's going to completely go out the window after you have your surgery" and you know, it was pretty much true.
My biggest piece of advice for after surgery is to STAY HYDRATED! Make that your priority and everything else falls in to place. If you're not hydrated, you will end up back in the hospital for fluids and you will not feel well. So, stay hydrated.
Do not go nuts and buy a bunch of protein powders. Your taste buds may change after surgery and what you enjoy now you may hate after. I believe one of the bariatric clinics recommends "double milk" where you add milk powder to your milk to add protein & calcium. That may be a better option as it shouldn't affect the taste like a protein powder would.
A lot of people believe in the Magic Bullet to puree foods, etc. I bought one and truthfully used it a little bit, but I have a nice blender and I thought that did a better job. The bullet is handy though because if you do mix up a protein shake or soup or something, you can keep it in those cups and refrigerate, etc.
Baby food? Leave it for the babies.
If you like to cook, cook up some lean meats ahead of time, puree them and put a scoop of meat mixture into ice cube trays, freeze, and then you have a little portion of protein ready to go into the microwave when you get home.
And aside from everything we tell you, just be sure to follow your surgeon's guidelines for eating after surgery.

All these ideas are awesome!! I'm only two weeks out and am on mooshies but really am concentrating just on hydration to be honest. I'll be starting my supplements in the coming weeks. Getting samples of protein pre-op is a great idea too. Although I don't like some of the things that I liked pre-op so I guess it's take it slow and learn as much as you can now about the basics!
God Bless!
