New to the Minnesota Board!

Never occured to me to join the Minnesota chat since I live in Minnesota.  So I thought I'd introduce myself, the short version.  Overweight most of my childhood and adult life.  Started this whole process in August of 2009 and was approved for the surgery in February.  Had gastric bypass on March 24, 2014 and have lost 113 lbs so far, feel fantastic.  Still learning as I go but all in all it's been the best experience ever for me and I wouldn't change it for nothing.  Maybe would have done it sooner, but maybe the timing was meant to be.  Looking if anyone is in my area, live on the Iron Range in Hibbing.  I did have my surgery though at the U of M Fairview with Dr. Ikrammuddin, best surgeon ever in my book!! Hope to meet some new people along the way, take care!

This board is very supportive, we post the good, the bad and the ugly....

If you watch the board, a few people will post for coffee get togethers, there all over the place, but not sure in your area......

I live about 3 hours north of Minneapolis.  An hour from Duluth.  We have no support group at all for weight loss surgery. I work for Fairview and am currently trying to start something as I know there is a great deal of people that would benefit from it, including myself.  I've usually posted on the main forum but this is nice to get to know people are our state! Thanks for the welcome!!!  Hope to chat soon!

I had to giggle because your post said you had surgery in March 2014...I think you meant 2010. I hoped I hadn't lost all those years!!
