Scheduling Appt TOMORROW!
I have my appointment with the surgeon FINALLY tomorrow! I will be discussing the surgery, the expectations I have, and setting a date! I will be having my surgery at PNC/Methodist with Dr. Svendsen and Im hoping for early November.
Anyone who has had any experience with Dr. Svendsen please speak up and let me know what to expect. Is he funny, sarcastic, bland, warm, cold, what? I MUST be sure I've gotten the correct surgeon before I do this as I will be laying my entire existence at his feet and being unconfortable with him will NOT be good for me.
Also, please let me know what things are good to eat besides tuna fish and pudding after surgery. I LOVE tuna and pudding (not together) but I am also blessed with a refined palate and amazing sense of smell so food is more than an emotional thing to me. I need to know that I will still be able to enjoy flavor and texture after surgery, albeit in mini-sizes!
Speak up folks, I'm going to need all the support I can get!

Food choices after surgery are important as you will need some "staple" foods that you like have the protein, and are pouch friendly. When I ate out, i chose Taco Bell Pinto and Cheese or Wendy's chili. For home protein rich lentle soup, shakes with some spice for flavor and believe it or not, beef jerky chewed very well.
We are all different and each surgical team has their own schedule, but it is most important to stick to the plan and don't introduce "trigger" foods that would bring you back into old bad habits.

Somewhere, maybe this forum, I came across this blog - http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ . She had RNY in 2006. Her recipes are great. Just what we need. Good luck.
