And it went well. He supports me. I feel sooo much better. I don't plan on telling my mother until it's closer until surgery to save her the anxiety. I just hope she doesn't read my blog or that someone tells her about it...LOL If they do, I'll just take it as it comes, I guess.

Dad can't be there for the day of my surgery because he has a show in Chicago that weekend, but it sounds like I'll have my aunt and boyfriend there with me and my step mom will probably stop by the next day after surgery.

Such a huge weight is off of my shoulders. As long as I have my dad's support, I can do anything. :)

I love him <3

Good for you!  AND - Good for your dad!  Our parents almost always have our best interests in mind...  I suppose it's good to wait to tell your mom if she has issues with anxiety, but I was just thinking - hopefully she won't get upset with you if she finds out you shared this major news with your dad ahead of her.

It is SO HELPFUL to have support when going through this, I'm glad you have another loved one in it with you!

My mom will be upset either way. She has mental illness problems and freaks out over everyhing and I know she will be extremely anxious if I tell her this far in advance.

I love the crap out of my dad .I am sooo lucky to have him. and I am a lot more excited for surgery now that I know he is a supporter :)

Now that you are not so scared ****less any more, could you pass some of that ****less on to me?  Given my post from yesterday, I think I need that.......seriously, though, it is scary to tell someone whose support you want about a difficult decision that you have made.  It takes courage to do that and I am so glad your courage was rewarded with your Dad's support.
