PNC gave me a machine thing to take home and do  Sleep Apnea testing. If it shows anything I will need to do a Sleep Study at the Hospital. Well they called this morning and it shows that I do indeed have Sleep Apnea. I go into the Hosp on the 26th of Sept for that. My Question is, is this going to delay surgery at all.? I have my 2nd set of Appts the next day 27th and I am done with everything. I will just be waiting for my approval from Insurance and a surgery Date. Get my Study done and a CPAP Machine then I can do surgery right? Really Confused now. Just when I thought I was figuring all this out

Before my surgery I also had to do a sleep study.  I found out that I have severe sleep apnea, and they sent me home that day with a CPAP machine.  The only thing I was required to do was to follow up with the neurologist that the hospital's sleep study clinic uses.

The sleep apnea actually sped up my process, because I had a 3 month diet to follow as I didn't meet any of Medica's co-morbidities.  As soon as my sleep apnea was discovered, I got to skip the diet and process my claim to insurance.

I'm not sure if the neurologist visit was required by the insurance company, or if it was just policy at the Sleep Study clinic.  I only had to wait for 2 weeks to get into the Neurologist, and they continued with my paperwork as I waited.

Hopefully they will be able to submit your paperwork without having to wait on a neurologist visit.  Best of luck, and even if you do have to wait a couple of weeks, it will just give you a little more time to prepare.

I had to have the sleep test to...... Ya like ya can really sleep with all this **** hooked up......... I was just hoping she wouldn't hear me fart..... LOL

Anyways That will help with your approval.  I had all my stuff done within 2 months it all went very fast for me.

Good luck and keep us posted.........................

LMAO!  That was my worry too!!!  So much so that I had a harder time trying to fall asleep because I was CERTAIN I was going to fart in my sleep and become an internet star for my nocturnal gasous emissions.

I too have sleep apnea and it also sped up my process as it's a co-morbidity.

I have High Blood Pressure also and to Healthpartners it looks like it doesnt matter you have to do these Phone Sessions before you get approved. But how I read the Rules (LOL) to have surgery it says that you do these sessions unless BMI is over 40 with Co morbs. Well I have all that and they still say that I have to do these sessions. Well I am on call #3 and I have to do 5 which is not bad, BUT they are 2 weeks apart. So that sucks. Anyone else have experience with Healthpartners and these sessions and their rules. I dont mind doing these but I am so excited to get going on the surgery....
